Villa Roquette is in the South of France, close to the Mediterranean and the historic towns of Pezenas, Agde, Beziers and Montpellier. Our vacation apartments and BandB offer a high level of comfort and are close to many wonderful locations.
We offer you an apartment, suite or private room in our home and you can share our gardens and private swimming pool. Breakfast is included with the rooms and suites.
Most rooms have air conditioning. There is full central heating which is needed in some winter weeks.
We have more double bedrooms with a king size bed or two single beds plus en-suite full bathrooms an showers, others have a double bed (140 cm) – if you require comfortable accommodation for a larger group, up to 14 people, do contact us.
The South of France is famous for sunshine, wine and a relaxed French lifestyle. French cuisine offers specialties of the Languedoc region. Our chambre dhotes, Bed and Breakfast suites and apartments offer you the perfect holiday and vacation accommodation to discover Languedoc and the South of France.
We are a few minutes from the Mediterranean, surrounded by French history, a hours drive from Spain and you will receive a warm and friendly welcome staying with us in either our bed and breakfast accommodation or private apartments.
All bedrooms and living rooms are light, comfortable and peaceful. We offer completely private individual apartments or suites of rooms, either as bed and breakfast accommodation or self contained and private apartments.
Communications by road, rail and air are very good, the new airport in Beziers, with daily flights to several UK destinations, is only 20 minutes from our home, the International airport in Montpellier is under an hour, and we are close to two Motorway connections, the A9 (Barcelona to Avignon) and the A75 to Paris. The TGV train stops in Agde, only 12 minutes from us.
Although our house number is 146, this actually means we are only 146 meters from the center of the village, there are only 20 houses in our street.
The village of Montblanc has good shops, including two bakers, a butcher and a small general store, the bar/cafe is very friendly and serves meals lunchtimes.
Our home is an oasis of calm in the center of the village, it is the perfect French way of life, I can walk to the boulangerie in the morning and the bread is still warm when I put it on the table for breakfast.
We have a secluded front garden and private gardens and terraced at the rear of our house. A nice feature is our pool which is securely fenced with a large sunbathing area.
Our Village is Montblanc, an old winegrowing village which is, not surprisingly, surrounded by vineyards. It is a busy village with a small weekly market and a full range of shops – 2 bakeries, a chemist, small supermarket, excellent butcher who also sells homemade pates, stews etc, Post Office, newsagents with foreign papers, and a bar which serves lunches in the summer months.
We have a good selection of restaurants within easy reach. The closest to us and which luckily happens to be one of our favourites is the newly opened L’Asparagus in Valros. This is only a 5 minute drive away by car. It has great atmosphere with lovely decor, spacious terrace and good service - and the food is pretty good too! Menus start at under 15 euros at lunchtime, there is an excellent wine list and their chocolate pudding is the best ever. Also nearby is La Grange Basse at Bessan, not far from the A9 Pezenas exit, and towards Beziers is the deservedly famous fish restaurant Barba. A 10 minute drive to Pezenas and Beziers gives you a wide choice – just ask us for further mouth-watering choices.
We are 5 minutes from exit 34 of the A9 for Agde and Pezenas. The new A75 from Paris is about the same distance. We are close to Beziers Airport (15 kms), Montpellier Airport (55kms) and Carcassonne Airport (100 kms).
Local Places of Interest
Our house is a good base for exploring with historic sites nearby – Carcassonne, the Cathar castles, Roman cities of Narbonne, Arles and Nimes – and attractive hinterland with vineyards, lakes and rivers.
We are only 25 kms from Cap d Agde with its marina and leisure parks, and there are Mediterranean beaches even closer to us at La Tamarissiere and Valras Plage.
There are weekly markets to visit at Pezenas and Clermont Herault, and oysters and other fresh shellfish to be sampled from the Etang de Thau.
Not forgetting of course the many wineries to be visited here, with many village co-ops and local producers happy to introduce you to their produce.
The Roman cities of Nimes and Arles are also worth a visit and the Pont du Gard is a definite must. For 9th century history try the Unesco site of St Guilhem le Desert....Read more

Judy and I spent two months at the Villa Roquette. We rented one of the flat,
which was cosy and comfortable and just what we needed. While the weather
was cold (jamais, jamais have they ever had such a cold winter!) the welcome
was very warm and we loved being there. Montblanc is a delightful village to
have as a base for exploring the area. It's near numerous lovely beaches, right
in the middle of vineyards, close to Beziers for shopping, and within an hour of
many amazing historical sights.
Tony and Carole are great hosts, and we can't wait to got back.
