“Wonderful time in Kiliku!” Me and my wife stayed at Kiliku for over a month. We discover an incredible site, very peaceful during our Honey Moon. Kiliku was a great connection to other places like the coast and the jungle. It´s hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed living in community with other people foreigners and locals. It was the best experience sharing ecuadorian culture and discovering flavors and artists. The location is perfect as it is close to Quito in the way to the new airport and main roads. A country side - city environment full of emotions and options to meet people and culture!

“Such a peaceful place!” This property was even lovelier than the photos depicted! The view was out of this world. Although it was a bit away from the city center, the relaxed ambiance made the extra driving worthwhile. The pool was so welcome, clean, and only minimally chlorinated. A lovely outdoor bbq and pizza oven added to our very well-stocked kitchen amenities. The owner lived on the premises and extremely welcoming and helpful. Maid service three times a week was an added bonus!

“Beautiful place” Cross a little river and you walk through the door that leads to this wonderful collection of different housing options , we believe in a world of its own , magical dive . Have the buildings nestled alongside the natural or is it vice versa? The question is difficult to answer , but one will feel the harmony that exists between the building , grounds and plants. Each house has its own theme and its own character. But they all have one thing in common: their architecture is timeless, with its warm and bright colors , wooden floors and roofs it never looks cool but always pleasant and gives a feeling of security and happiness . If you look around, you will always discover new details . Hid lights behind ceramic , built-in colorful bottles , leaked by the light , colorful mosaics and much more encourage the eye again and again , keep looking , and delve into this wonderful world . A world that offers all the elements of space . Even the fire - in the form of a cozy fire pit with benches on its own layer on a slope, which is the central point of the property for me. There we were allowed two months to occupy Torre . We felt immediately at ease . Each floor of the tower block has its own flair . On the ground floor you can see from the kitchen window into the green. A spiral staircase leads to the next floor . The bedroom also has a small wooden balcony, hanging In the fragrant Hollunderblüten . The last floor offers a breathtaking view. At night, the stars is close to his feet and you have the lights of the valley. If there is no romance arises. Anyway, we enjoyed every day at Casa Kiliku and put them all in search of tranquility without boredom, to the heart. Many, many thanks to the great hosts Iris and David, who supplement their colorful infrastructure with their extraordinary personalities

“family vacation in Ecuador” When we got to Quito we had no car waiting for us. One was reseved but Hertz gave it to some one on Friday. So Maria offered us a driver with 2 cars who took us everywhere. Without him we could not have done it. His name is Carlos and if you plan on going there we recommened him. The house we stayed at was beautiful it had everything you needed. We felt at home and Maria and her husband made certain that we felt comfortable.

“Fine location, what a view!” This is a wonderful little apartment in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It has great access to both the old and new parts of town. The view from the roof terrace is unbeatable. It is small, and you need to climb a flight of stairs plus a spiral staircase, but it is well worth it. Sandra is a great bilingual host who made us feel most welcome. We highly recommend this apartment. The only downside is that the kitchen is very small, making extensive meal prep out of the question. But simple things like breakfast, pasta, or anything you can do with two burners, no problem. Our guess is most people like to eat out more than we do and restaurants are a plentiful with a short (inexpensive) cab ride. For the price, this can't be beat in Quito.

“After a great stay in this fine apartment in Quito, Lonely Plane” Ecuador's just been named Lonely Planet's fourth best country to visit in the world. The only one in Latin and Central america. I certainly appreciated every aspect of this startlingly beautiful and lively country. In Quito I was lucky enough to stay in this superb apartment in the heart of Colonial Quito. The town around is stunning, but the place too was spacious, light, great bed, kitchen and bathroom in a refurbished palace with 24 hour security and a garage slot if you need it. The owner Dani was super helpful, picked us up from the airport and speaks excellent English and Italian. Michael

“interesting experience” My husband and I and our son and his wife spent a week in Quito in March. We started out in this condo but half the city, or so, went down with no water after two nights so we moved to the owner's other condo across town. As such, my review for this one is brief as we spent little time there. It's on a very steep street. Be prepared to taxi back if you're not one to huff and puff up the street. It's close to the old town area with shops and restaurants. The street had a lot of loud traffic, we didn't open the street side windows due to the noise. The kitchen was fairly adequately stocked, it lacked a few basics, such as a colander and a clean sponge and veggie wash and dish soap but we had just spent a week in a condo in Cuenca that was superbly stocked so perhaps we were spoiled. There were no windows inthe bedroom to open for ventilation. Beds were comfortable, linens and pillows fine. I might recommend this to family and friends.

Incredible views from this beautiful 15th fl ideally located apartmet
Stay here--you'll love it!

We've been traveling in South America for the past three months--renting apartments. This one is by far the best! The view is absolutely amazing--there is a whole wall of windows in the living room and bedroom to maximize your enjoyment of the view---city and mountains. At night you'll find yourself turning off the light to enjoy the view of the lighted city. the kitchen is very well equipped--full size refrigerator. Granite counter tops. Microwave, coffee pot, toaster...even a crockpot. Comfortable living room furniture...nice art on the walls. Walk-in shower in bathroom with roomy counter top and great lighting--so many S.A. bathrooms have poor lighting. Comfortable bed with quality linens. Two TV's but no English stations---nice music stations however. WONDERFUL property manager, Marie Elena, who makes you feel welcome at arrival and shows you how to operate everything. This apartment is located just inside a mall...with a guard in the lobby. The mall has a grocery store. One thing that isn't mentioned by the owner is that there is a small clothes washing machine in the apartment. We loved that. Stay here---trust me. You'll love it.see more
1-bedroom independent house
Quito stay

I stayed at anita's for a month long visit to Quito. The rental unit is attached to anita's house but is independent with its own entrance. The house itself is in a central location on the west side of the new town about a 15 minute walk to Parque Carolina and perhaps a few minutes more than that to the Mariscal. It was a great location for my purposes. The house is in a decent, though decidedly not upscale, neighborhood with easy access to public transport. There is street noise, but if you don't want to be living on the tenth or fifteenth floor of a high rise, the sound of traffic is pretty much unavoidable in Quito. The traffic dies down during the evening hours and picks up again at the start of the work day. The house is nicely laid out with a comfortable living room, has a separate office space with computer, one bedroom with queen size bed, and decent size kitchen and bath. There are large windows that let in a lot of natural light, though the house doesn't face south so there isn't that much direct sunlight. The green space outside of the windows adds to the sense of space inside. The bedroom, living room and office are all in good condition. The kitchen and bathroom are not yet renovated, though anita is in process of doing some improvements on them as of this writing. That brings me to the best part of the rental ... Anita. Anita is a great host. She is there for you as much or as little as you wish. Having lived in Quito for nearly forty years she can help orientate you and give plenty of good suggestions to help your stay. She is very responsive to any requests. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.see more
Casa Kiliku - Suit La Palma special discounts for long stays!
A perfect relaxation in paradise (but very near Quito)

Casa Kiliku is very well designed in the organic and handmade way that I like. The room I stayed is (Casa Palma) is next to the Yoga room and overlooks a nice part of the garden. It is that kind of experience which is not based on unnecessary material opulence but on thoughtful details and warm human presence. Iris, David and Daniella, the people running the place are wonderful, warm, creative people, thoughtful of their guests and I think of them as friends by now. For me it's just right and it is the experience I would highly recommend to friends and all like-minded people.see more
Off-Grid Eco-Solar House in Mindo Countryside
Best of our dozen rentals in Ecuador

This Mindo house was the BEST rental location we experienced after spending over a month in Ecuador, and out of a dozen other rentals. A few things that should be emphasized: Hot water! Most rentals in Ecuador and most hotels and hostals say they have 'agua caliente' but most mean water that is not cold, and some even mean during specific hours. This house has very hot water, and lots of it, and even enough to comfortably take a bath in the lovely tile tub in the master bathroom. Quality house construction in the wilderness. You will find lots of fantastic wildlife outside and on the property with the creek on the property, birds and even watusi. If you go out at night with flashlights you can find some great insect life. Somehow, we never had any of those insects get in the house, despite the eco-wood construction and the fact that the house feels very much integrated with the outside and wildlife. The viewpoint 'Mirador'. This gazebo on the property had six hammocks. Even better, when we hung out there in the early morning or evening, we had no problem seeing 50 different types of birds and hearing even more. We saw many more birds from the mirador steps away from the house than we did over a week in the Amazonia. Hike to the waterfalls. A true highlight is when we were lucky enough to get a guided hike by Fernando to the nearest couple waterfalls. It was truly a jungle trek with beautiful flora and fauna and refreshing waterfalls. We were a little worried on our first drive out to the property as it is truly off the beaten path. You cross Mindo river and the rocky road even crosses a stream of water running over the 'road'. Only on later trips did we realize that the rough and creek-crossed rocky road is really just a half-hour walk to town, and about as good as other roads outside of Mindo. I didn't like the town of Mindo that much, but this property was really nice, large, clean and close to the butterfly farm and rock wall, waterfalls, and Fernando and Marjorie were very high service hosts.see more
Peaceful Garden Suites Luna in Historical Quito
A Little Paradise.

What can I say? All the favourable reviews before ours are accurate. This place is a little oasis within the busy historic district of Quito. My children loved their garden and all the space for them to explore. The rooms were lovely suites with all the comforts of home. We especially enjoyed making our rooms cozy in the evening with their little wood burning fireplaces. The owners are welcoming, helpful and yet unobtrusive. We stayed here at the beginning of our three week trip in Ecuador and at the end. It was by far the best place we stayed in the country.see more
Peaceful Garden Suite Tortuga in Historical Quito
A peaceful and beautiful place in the heart of Old Town Quito."

We stayed in the Tortuga Suite for 3 nights, and couldn't have been happier with the place, amenities and service. Tortuga Suite is spacious and yet private, being on the lower level of a gorgeous, multi-terraced garden. The suite had a comfortable queen bed with warm blankets for the cold Feb night (around 45F), a seating area, a desk by the window, a sizable kitchen with a dining area. There were gas stove top, toaster oven, drinking water, coffee, tea, basic spices - plenty of cookware and tableware to make, if you want to cook during your vacation. The fridge had a few welcome bread, cheeses, beer, yogurt and muesli! The bathroom was clean and big. The water heater worked fine and we had plenty of hot water for two people to shower. The laundry service was only on certain days for each suite in Wantarra, so check with Wolfgang or Andi to make sure you get your clean clothes back in time for your departure. We didn't have any problem with ours. There are common areas in the garden to meet other travelers, grill out or share a meal. Even though there's another suite directly above us, we only heard footsteps and muffled conversations - it's quiet in here. The peaceful garden was perfect to come back to after a day of exploring Quito, especially in the beginning while we were still acclimating. We just sat outside and read in the beautiful weather. We could hardly hear the Old Town bustling outside the gate. Sitting on the porch of Tortuga Suite, we had a clear view of El Panecillo and La Virgen de Quito statue. We hiked up the hill a couple days later, after acclimating to the altitude. We highly recommend a stay in the Tortuga Suite.see more
