Description
The villa was originally built in 1718, next to a medieval inn, when Colombino Bassi, Bishop of Pistoia and Prato, decided to set a country home for his summer retreat and to rest during his visits to the area's parishes (as testified by a Latin stone engrave in the living-room).
Such a strong historic context, coupled with its location in a lush valley, along the banks of the river Reno, makes of Villa Le Panche a charming destination. The villa is located 20 minutes from the medieval town of Pistoia (where you can find highway and railway connections to Florence and the other interesting destinations of Tuscany) at the beginning of the Apennine Mountains region, so that our villa may be an ideal base for tourists interested in visiting the famous Tuscan art cities as well as for nature lovers, aiming to discover the Apennines' beautiful landscapes in all seasons.
My father and I decided to buy this villa on the purpose of welcoming tourists from all over the world. We renovated it in 2009 so as to let it offer wide common areas and all modern comforts, such as ensuite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, two large living rooms, one of which is provided of a pool table. However, the most appreciated room is the private Spa, provided of sauna, maxi-jacuzzi and fitness equipment.
From spring to autumn the villa's strong point is definitely the wide fenced garden with the private heated swimming pool.
My father and I are both passionate travelers and this helps us to empathize with the potential demands of our guests.

“A superb place to stay”
As a group of 13, made up of 7 children and 6 adults this was a superb and spacious place for all of us. There's a bus from outside the house to Pistoia where you can catch the train and travel very easily by train to places such as Florence and Lucca which we did and had a fantastic time. Driving times are also good. Davide and his dad are great hosts and were on hand to answer questions and provide travel advice. If you're looking for a great place to stay with pool, jacuzzi and surrounded by greenery this is a fantastic option and I'd thoroughly recommend it.

“Villa La Panche”
Just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Villa La Panche. The traditional Tuscan villa is comfortable and well equipped and Davide and his father looked after us very well responding promptly to our requests. The weather was cold and wet for a few days so we were unable to use the outdoor pool as much as we’d hoped, but the huge indoor jacuzzi was a godsend! Unfortunately the restaurant next door was closed and although it’s only 1km to Pontepetri, there are no pavements and fast traffic makes it difficult to walk there, especially with young children. However we drove in each day and both the butcher/restaurant and the bar/pizzeria provided good food and a warm welcome. There is also a bakery which sold delicious bread and cakes. Davide helped us organise 2 local chefs to come to the villa to prepare us a Tuscan style dinner to celebrate 2 family birthdays which was superb. We visited Florence (40 mins by train from Pistoia) and drove to Pisa, parking at Pisa Centrale and taking the shuttle in. Although the villa is in a stunning rural setting, for us the location felt a little isolated and meant a lot of driving to get anywhere. When the weather improved on the last couple of days we enjoyed using the bbq and made the most of the beautiful grounds of the villa. Thank you Villa La Panche for a lovely family holiday.
