About Panama City

Panama City may not be as popular a destination as neighboring Panama Beach City, but there are plenty of attractions here for vacationers. And just along the coast, you have access to a number of golden sandy beaches with calm waters!

The area’s humid, subtropical climate means summers are long and hot, while winters are refreshingly short and mild, with average summer temperatures of around 32 degrees centigrade. The area is susceptible to hurricanes, so do check the weather reports before traveling.

It’s just a short drive to the nearest airport, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. While you could rent a car if you’re planning on a road trip, the Baytown Trolley Services buses run regularly from 6am-7pm, Monday-Saturday, covering the whole of the city.

What to do

St Andrew’s State Park is a great place to head for lovers of the great outdoors. With over 1.5 miles of white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, water sports are a popular option here, and you can enjoy snorkeling, diving, canoeing and kayaking. There are two fishing piers, as well as a number of nature trails for hiking or bird watching. During the spring and summer, you can enjoy a relaxing boat tour, or just find a picnic spot and relax.

Take the kids for a day out at Ripley’s Believe it or Not, enjoy a round of golf at Signal Hill Golf Course or head for Panama City Beach, around 10 miles west of Panama City. Here you’ll find beautiful beaches, spectacular marine life for snorkeling and diving, amusement arcades and strip malls – there’s plenty to keep families amused.
