About Pawleys Island

Pawleys Island is a small Atlantic coast barrier island with only a few hundred full time residents. The island and the surrounding area, including Litchfield Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Georgetown, collectively make a up a quaint and secluded vacation destination easily within reach of the colorful, noisy bustle of Myrtle Beach. Escape to Pawleys Island for a relaxing and beautiful getaway. Come here between May and October for the best shrimping, crabbing, and bird watching you'll find anywhere in South Carolina. The beaches are classic barrier island stretches of soft clean sand and gentle waves. Build sandcastles, go fishing, explore the salt march ecosystem from a canoe or kayak, or just relax and enjoy the sun. Once the sun starts to set, wander the quaint shopping districts of Litchfield or dine in one of the many great restaurants here.

  • Go shopping: Visitors travel for hundreds of miles to hunt for bargains in the outlets of Myrtle Beach. Don't leave empty handed.

Though Pawley's Island is small, you won't have any trouble finding a beautiful secluded vacation rental here, even during the height of the summer. Many visitors decide to reserve an elegant condo on or near the emerald golf courses of Litchfield.
