“Our home away from home!” We have rented with the Boumans for the past 4 years and this residence has always exceeded our expectations. The home is immaculately kept and offers all the amenities a family could need for a comfortable vacation. It is conveniently located within a short walking distance from the bay and the ocean, as well as restaurants, playgrounds and fishing/crabbing. Spending a week in Lavallette every summer has become a tradition for our family and we could not imagine doing so without staying at this rental property.

About Point Pleasant Beach
Once the summer fishing grounds of the Lenape Indians, Point Pleasant beach became a resort for families in the mid-19th century right through the Victorian era, the roaring 20’s and prohibition.
Like other east coast resorts of Coney Island and Atlantic City, Point Pleasant Beach installed a boardwalk in 1915 so that people could stroll the boards by the beach in their fine Sunday clothes.
Amusement arcades and rides soon followed, together with hot dogs and pizza introduced by the latest batch of immigrants to call America home.
When the north to south Garden State Parkway was completed in 1957, reaching the shore communities from New York and Philadelphia was easy and something metro dwellers did every summer to escape the heat and humidity of the city.
From Memorial Day in May until Labor Day in September, Point Pleasant’s beaches are full of families enjoying summer at the shore.
What to do
Point Pleasant Beach, just like every town up and down the coast of New Jersey, is built on a barrier island connected to the mainland by either a causeway or bridge.
Many of the houses on these barrier islands are second homes that people either use as their summer residence or rent out as a source of income.
