LOW SPRING RATES! UNFORGETTABLE Geodesic Dome On 40Acres w/Hot Tub

Grassy Creek log cabin

  • sleeps 5

“very relaxing” it was pet friendly, kid friendly, and the little town near by was full of wonderful people. the area is gorgeous and the climate was amazing. the hot tub is outside and the view from it is perfect. also, the cabin is very unique in its design. there is a place nearby that rents canoes, its a little general store called new river general store. the people there were really great and even sent us a newspaper clipping from the nearby town paper. we were pictured in it because a photographer had snapped a picture of us canoing for an article they ran. She recognized us and mailed it, using the info she had from when we rented the canoe. what a great place to relax.

“Breathtaking” This rustic cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Being up on the mountain we were out of the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to venture out if we wanted to. The views from the porch were spectacular, especially as the sun came up, which you can watch from the comfort of the bed through a large window! The inside of the cabin is charming, with all of the comforts home including a full kitchen, bathroom with a stand up shower. The cabin was quiet and despite the owner, George being upstairs we felt alone. George is a great host! He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a quick tour of the cabin and best spots for pictures when we arrived. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer! We will be going back. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a quiet, secluded, cozy place to escape in the mountains.

“Relaxing and carefree” We had such a wonderful and memorable weekend. Very picturesque and ever so quiet when you're there mid season. There were wineries and breweries within a short driving distance, and the local restaurants are spot on. I would not suggest using GPS, it gets you in the vicinity but not to the right house. Thank goodness for pictures of the house. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, but bring your own trash bags and sandwich bags etc. The master bath and bed is very nice. We loved the bed so much that we are buying a mattress exactly like it because we slept so well. My only other suggestion would be to have the house ready for arrival. The house was cold, and the entry way was not swept, I picked up a few pieces of trash laying around on the driveway, but I am a Manager of a very nice Boutique Hotel so I notice these small things. All in all it was so lovely and I would definitely stay again.

“Relax and enjoy the view and the art” This place was so relaxing, rejuvenating and beautiful! Lovely house with all you need. The deck is awesome for enjoying the view, sunning, grilling. You are surrounded by not only mountains but by artist studios throughout the area on the Toe River Studio Tour. Claudia and John were very helpful and all of our contact with them was enjoyed. They can guide you to wonderful hiking locations too. It was so cool to see them at work in their studios creating art. Their studios are in walking distance from the house.

“New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home. The New River, the fire pit, the hot tub, the game room, the bicycles, etc. were enjoyed by everyone. This place has everything you could imagine you would need. We will be back! :)

PANORAMIC VIEWS: Kilkelly's 'WEST WING' Condo

Boone apartment

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

“Awesome and Blissful” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blissful Vista. Jenkins Rentals is wonderful and helpful. We have been coming to Blowing Rock for 14 years and are looking forward to next year. The location was perfect, private but still around everyone. Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive as always. The view is fantastic, ever changing and peaceful. Totally enjoyed waking up and just looking out the window to see the sunrise. Love the wood burning fireplace. If you are a chef, the kitchen was perfect and had everything one needs. Our favorite part is just enjoying the view out on the awesome decks. Thank you for a wonderful home and sweet memories.

“Perfect Trip!” We did not travel far from where we are from, but we felt like we had escaped to the most beautiful part of the middle of nowhere. Everything you forgot or might have forgotten was available, and the six of us (8 one night) slept completely comfortably. We have already inquired about returning in summers and winters to come. We were secluded, and the yard was perfect for our endless bocce ball games. Very worth it!

“Great Escape” We had a wonderful time in this rental. The views were amazing with all the open windows. It felt like we were in our own little world. The town it’s located in was just as charming. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a little escape. The only down part was most of the leaves were gone by the time we arrived. Wishing we would have went a little earlier in the season.

“At least as good as advertised” When we arrived, we were met with a friendly smile, a lot of information, a good quick tour of the location, and a bottle of wine with two glasses. We wanted a pet friendly place, and I kind of expected some evidence of other pets - smell, scratches, etc. We found nothing of the kind. Which is great when one of us also has asthma and would be sensitive to a dirty place. For the holiday season, they even had a tree in the corner. The fireplace is great. The great room is huge. And the views were terrific. The bedrooms were more than enough for us. Master bedroom was huge and kids enjoyed the second floor space with two twin beds and a TV. We came to visit the asheville river arts district and to take our kids on the Great Smoky RailRoad Polar Express Tour. Both events were close enough. But we also stopped by the Biltmore and the National GingerBread House Contest at the Grove Park Inn. (Got a nice tip - pay for a morning massage at the Grove Park and get use of their spa facilities all day). I'm a runner, so the high grade gravel road to the house was not to my liking for that. Altitude, steep hill, thin road that was a bit slippery. But I also went just a bit higher than the house to the RV Campground and not only found great hilltop views, but also tons of trails that wound around the hills. These would be terrific for exploring with the kids and dogs on another trip. We will definitely look to this house first for a return trip. I should note that though the house felt very remote, anything we wanted was close by. We had a need for a pharmacy and groceries right away and they were quick to get to. We even found a decent Thai restaurant in a strip mall close by. Other restaurants looked good. But the proximity to downtown and the River arts area was surprising. Had to be only three highway exits away and no traffic.

“Private Mountain Top” Very private spot with far views and a good size yard to kick around in. We went in autumn and the colors were lovely. The bed is in the upstairs loft and the bath is on the lower floor. Otherwise there is ample space while still feeling cozy. Very warm in cold weather with the heating system. Nice sized hot tub on the rear deck with easy access through the back kitchen door. Great sunrise and sunset views from this lot. A very appealing spot. The steep gravel road is sharply inclined so a four wheel drive would be necessary in rain or snow.

“Beautiful home” We had a week long stay scheduled. It was beautiful. The house was amazing and the view was perfect. We had to cut our trip short though. There are so many stairs and the stairs down to the river were way too much. I wouldnt suggest this property for anyone with health conditions, pregnancy or small children with them. It would be perfect for young couples or older groups who are in excellent shape. Jeff Hayes was amazing to deal with as was Flip Key advisors. It was such a smooth way to book a beautiful home. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Second stay

This was our second stay at this cabin in blowing rock. The cabin was very clean same as last time with modern appliances. It’s the perfect distance from blowing rock and all other attractions. You can watch the beautiful orange glow of the sun coming up from the back porch. Very comfy place and we will likely be staying again next year!see more

Can't wait to go back!!

Our family of 9 had a wonderful stay. Plenty of room and no one was on top of each other. The cabin was beautiful and the owner, Jerry, was the best!! I spoke with him a couple times and he stressed that if we had any type of problem - day or night- don't hesitate to call. We enjoyed walking out on the front porch or the back porch and seeing mountains!! This Florida gal is used to nothing but flat land and to see this scenery was awesome. We did one of the gem mines and returned with some great finds! All in all, if I could give this cabin and Jerry a 10 or more star rating I would!! We're already planning our next vacation!see more

Beautiful mountain view and AWESOME for pets

This is our 3rd visit here. We love the convenience of the property (not too far up the mountain) and LOVE the fenced in yard for our pets. The property is full of pots and pans which is unusual for a rental property. Has a full size washer and dryer. We love the fireplace. The living room has plenty of seating. Would love to see an outdoor firepit on the property. The only negative comment I have is there is a low spot behind the house that we have to block off or else the dogs run straight to the mud! (Not sure if it could be filled with gravel, etc.)see more

Great for larger family fun!

The location is easy to find and access, with great mountain experience. The size of the home easily accommodated larger group. We had 3 familys, with 6 adults and 6 kids and this allowed us a boys space, and a separate girls space with all the couples having private rooms too. The kids had plenty of in home options for our rainy day, and the driveway was great fun for these beach kids. We went tubing, skiing, and cooked at home every night. The table fit everyone, and was the perfect size for ou revening bored game competitions. Check in was easy, and everything is well marked with instructions for use. We hope to book again!see more
