Enjoy the best of Playa del Carmen by staying in this Exclusive deluxe home in Playacar’s Villas del Mayab community, located a four-minute walk from the upscale shops of the Paseo del Carmen which begins Playa’s famous 5th Avenue, or 3 minutes from the spectacular white sands and turquoise waters of the Riviera Maya.
This unique vacation home is exquisitely decorated in the modern Mexican architectural style: colonial interiors and beautiful handcrafted furnishings grace every room. Throughout you will find the ample use of Mexican tiles, granite counter-tops, and eye-pleasing color-washed walls with tinted accents.
On the first floor is a fully equipped country-kitchen with island counter seating, adjacent dining room, and separate step-down living area. Also located on the first floor are a separate full laundry area and a full bathroom.
Stepping out the sliding window/door onto the garden patio, you will be delighted by the singing of birds. A unique home feature is the picturesque large-garden view from off the patio. Flowering shrubs interspersed with palm and shade trees; a palapa people-gathering area adjacent to the large pool; and directly behind these, the 3rd tee of the Playacar Robert von Hagge-designed golf course. A key advantage to parents is that they can monitor their children playing in the pool from inside their home dining room only a dozen meters away.
On the second floor you will find the three lovely, spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, each with full bath, and with big windows providing stunningly scenic views of the landscaped gardens, palapa and pool. Morning coffee can be enjoyed in the shade of the master bedroom’s step-out balcony. Bedroom amenities include one king bed, one queen, and two singles which are normally configured into a single king.
The home features Shaw StarChoice satellite TV which carries several Canadian and U.S. network channels as well as many local Canadian TV stations, along with dozens of music stations. Morning coffee with morning news from home can begin your day. And for those who prefer a slightly more active approach to their leisure, a guests-only tennis court is available.
For more adventure, you may want to explore the Mayan archeological ruins of Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba, or the nearby ecological water parks of Xel-Ha and Xcaret. Ziplines and cenote exploration can be found at Xplor. Swim with the turtles at Akumal. Diving, snorkeling, fishing, horseback riding, and jungle tours are also available. Or see a different view of the beach from a Jet Ski or Sea Kayak. Also nearby are the Xaman-Ha Aviary and a championship golf course designed by Robert Von Hagge....Read more

We had the best experience ever from the airport pick up to Patricia & Ana's help with arranging tours and getting us around this beautiful area. The accomodation was outstanding. Bella Vida was so well situated for getting to the beach or down to 5th Ave. All within walking distance. The casa was extremely comfortable. Beds, patio furniture, pool side location, the grounds so well kept, could not have been better. We be back again next year!!

The home was part of a group of homes called Villas del Mayab. There's a tennis court and a palapa gathering area and a pool, all visible and only a few feet away from the dining and patio areas of the house, so we caould always see whether the court was free or friends were at the pool. Having WiFi and satellite TV was great -- we could catch the local Edmonton news every morning.
Cleaning ladies came in twice a week and kept the house looking great. Lots of space, enough for friends to drop by and stay over with us. Home away from home!!
The beach -- white sand and usually nearly empty, unlike the town's busy beaches -- was about a 2-minute walk from the front door, so carrying a beach chair & cooler was a simple thing. Breakfast, beach, back home for lunch, back to the beach, home for siesta & appetizers -- a dream vacation.
The nearest restaurant in town was less than five minutes' walk, and another five minutes after that and we were in the middle of a great shopping area. Lots of other restaurants, grocery stores, shops, touristy spots nearby. Even Walmart was only a 15 minute walk from the house, where we filled up with fresh fruit & produce, pastries, meats & fish, drinks, etc, and then cabbed home for the peso equivalent of $4.50 Cdn. We walked everywhere and couldn't imagine needing to rent a car, unless it was to go travelling. Even the little airstrip where we chartered a plane for one excursion was only a ten minute walk.
But removed from all the town noise at night.
Lots of great tourist locations within a half hour by car, although we began using the collectivos (vans) that travel up & down the highway from the town square -- one neat beach named Akumal, where we snorkeled with turtles, was about 20 minutes away and cost us $3 per person each way. You pay different amounts depending on how far you go.
We couldn't imagine a better location anywhere in Playa, unless it would be on a yacht anchored off the beach. Great spot
