Le Pressoir at Gites Guebernez

Le Pressoir is a cosy gite with lots of rustic charm. It is is one of three gites at Gites Guebernez, a two-acre retreat set in beautiful gardens and with lovely countryside views all around. In the peak summer months, Guebernez is popular with families but in the off-season it becomes a tranquil spot, popular with walkers, cyclists and those who want to explore the heart of rural Brittany.

Stone steps lead up to an open-plan kitchenette and living room, with a dining table and a granite fireplace with wood fire burner. Upstairs is an attic room with twin beds and a stair gate, with lovely countryside views. On the ground floor is a double room, ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Le Pressoir is at Guebernez, a rural retreat which is ideally situated in central Brittany, surrounded by pretty villages, medieval market towns, unspolit countryside, lakes, lakeside beaches and the Morbihan coastline. A short walk away is the charming village of Ploerdut, which has a bakery, two bars and a hugely popular restaurant, all set around a pretty church square. The restaurant, Chez Marie The, attracts locals and tourists from miles around for its hearty homecooked food, which is great value at €11 for three courses and wine.
Central Brittany is wonderfully unspoilt, with rolling hills, forests, wild flower meadows, traditional stone-built farms and fields of grazing cattle.
There are several lakes within a 20-minute drive from Guebernez, some with small beaches, while Brittany's largest lake, the Lac de Guerledan, is 30 minutes away and is popular for walking, cycling, sailing and kayaking.
The nearest beach, on the Morbihan coastline, is an easy 40-minute drive. Dozens of stunning sandy beaches are within an hour's drive. We still haven't visited them all.
The Nantes-Brest Canal is a popular spot for canoeing and kayaking and passes through some of Brittany's prettiest towns and villages. Brittany is also known as an excellent fishing region, both on the coast and in rural areas.
