The Fort de Bertheaume, a fortified islet with a rugged beauty is battered by the winds and tides as it towers above the narrows of Brest. There are video guided visits from June - September. Not an activity for the faint-hearted but an original, inspiring way to discover the fort and accessible to anyone of 10 years or over! The fort is also used as a spectacular venue for Son et Lumiere performances, folk concerts, danse and theatre and has a creperie providing traditional Breton fare.
The museum of the Abbey de St Mathieu, is situated at the heart of the abbey and shows monastic life throughout the ages. A 17 minute video gives visitirs an insight into this unique place.
