Additional Location Information

Point Richmond is a "Hidden City," a unique village in the East Bay. Newcomers from Connecticut say it is like a New England town!. It is often overlooked as a destination, but it is a historic district and a gem. Because it is a true community with its own downtown, there is an abundance of activities and events here such as monthly wine tastings at the Hotel Mac, live music and a even live theater at the Masquers Playhouse. The latest addition is a small, first run cinema called the Magick Lantern. Imagine a two minute walk to enjoy coffee at cafes or go to restaurants, art galleries, grocery stores, gift shops, bank, a public library, post office and history museum. Our Municipal Natatorium (swimming pool), "The Plunge," was recently restored to its 1920's grandeur. For exercise walk up the hill and the bay is before you with a three-bridge view. There is a swimming beach within walking distance, too. This area is great for sailors, kayakers and those who love to swim in the bay!
