Kuhio Shores is ocean front in beautiful Poipu on the Kauai's South Shore. This is a location of magnificent sunsets, where you may watch surfers and sea turtles from your lanai or snorkel and surf at Lawai Beach right next door. Prince Kuhio Park is located across the street. Kuhio Shores is roughly a 5-minute walk from Baby Beach, a unique, quiet beach that's fun for kids.
You'll enjoy the sound of the ocean from every room in these vacation rentals. Cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and dine on the lanai or visit the
Beach House Restaurant next door for a Pacific Rim food experience with locally grown ingredients.
All of Kuhio Shores vacation condos are accessible by elevators and have easy access to free parking.
Not far down the road is Allerton Garden (Lawa'i Kai) managed by the National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG). This garden paradise has been transformed via the hands of an Hawaiian Queen, a sugar plantation magnate and, most significantly, an artist and an architect. A series of garden rooms unfold between the Lawa'i Stream and the cliffs of the Valley. The sound of water is in abundance in pools, miniature waterfalls, and fountains. Towering rainforest trees with tall curving roots grow near bronze mermaids, a grove of swaying golden bamboo, a cut-flower garden, and tropical fruit trees. Here, the focus is on landscape design, but among the plantings are botanically important species of the tropics, including varieties of palms, ki (ti), heliconias, orchids, and gingers. Nearby, 252-acre McBride Garden, also managed by NTBG, has the largest collection of native Hawaiian plants in the world.
Across the road from the garden's Visitors Center is Spouting Horn. This is where water from the waves shoot several stories into the air through a blow-hole in the lava rock. Souvenir shoppers can also hit the arts and crafts market in the park.
From Kuhio Shores, you can also walk to Kukui'ula Shopping Center within 15 minutes. There you will find a variety of shops and restaurants and the Wednesday afternoon Farmer's Market.

The condo was very nice. The wood floors and amenities were very nice.
The bedroom was nice but I thought the bed was too soft.
It would have been nice to have a blanket in the living room while watching tv at night. My wife was a little cold and it would have been a nice touch.
All in all fantastic enjoyed our stay 8.5 out of 10. Read more
Mahalo for the review! We will make sure to put in a blanket for the chilly nights;)

The condo is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The location is good-central to all the activities and good beaches. Great sunset views if you walk around the front of the building! Being on the end though, close to the road, it was very noisy and not very private out on the lanai. We had to sleep with all the windows closed. Otherwise, very nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Kuhio Shores. Clean and adequately appointed. We did not get a "Free Car Rental" when we booked. A $500+ decrease in the cost of our 12 day stay would greatly improve my view on the affordability of the unit. Granted, we were visitng during a peak time.
The photos do not indicate the fact that North wall of the unit is exterior (does not have a condo on both sides) and that it is adjacent to tthe road servicing the area. Not a huge problem. Just an observation that there maybe quieter units in the complex.

I recently stayed here and absolutely loved it. The condo was comfortable, the lanai was wonderful! We rented a cooler and 2 beach chairs, great vacations really made it easy! We will be back for sure!

We will definitely recommend unit 201 to others looking for a well appointed, comfortable condo with beautiful scenic ocean view. Only two issues: 1) bathroom lightbulbs too hot in summer; might consider changing to cooler burning bulbs 2) Internet worked intermittently. We truly enjoyed this unit. Read more

Great Stay at Kuhio Shores 201

Kuhio Shores is a perfect location to stay in Poipu. The attached Beach House restaurant is an excellent upscale choice for dining. A small beach is on site and a short walk will get you to the larger beach by the Sheraton. The new shopping center is just a short walk away and has many dining options and an organic market. All Kuhio Shores condos are open air with no aC units, so if you can not live without aC keep this in mind.

Had a great time with a great price, overlooked the small bay where the sea turtles came in every morning, some were huge, sat out on the lanai(balcony)and watched them for an hour or so each morn. Great snorkeling right in your backyard, 30 steps away. Very clean and just the sound of the ocean to sleep by. Didn't need a/C the ocean breeze cooled the whole place. The stars are abundant with no city lights around. I liked this side of the island (poipu) much better than kapaa. The weather was nicer and the beach was better. Next time I go, Ill book with Great Vacations for Kuhio Shores again. Thanks again Linda and Christina for a great place and time.
