Lovely Sunny Cottage, 90 km from Dubrovnik
The Sunny Cottage is our family's heirloom. Built sometime at the end of the 19th century, it was thoroughly rebuilt and renovated in 2000, and then renovated and refurbished again in 2012. Our family has been spending summer holidays in Trstenik since 1965. Our sweetest childhood and youth memories are always connected with Trstenik, so we sincerely hope that, if you decide to come and stay in our Sunny Cottage you will go home with some delightful Mediterranean memories of your own.The cottage is tucked in a quiet neighborhood of the old village, only a 5 minute walk to the wonderful 300 m long pebble beach. Next to the cottage there is a pomegranate tree, under which is your own parking place, the shade being the perfect protection from sun and heat. The downstairs area consists of a bright and spacious living room and kitchen, all in one. The kitchen is equipped with electric devices (fridge, freezer, stove, oven, dish washer), small appliances (coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle, iron), as well as all the necessary utensils for cooking and serving. In the living room there is a comfortable sofa bed, a satellite TV with some 90 programs and a stereo Hi-Fi. There is also a wi-fi in the cottage (May-October), just like in almost all the bars at the seafront. There is a bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet and a washing machine. Fresh linen and a sufficient number of towels are the standard offer. You're free to take more or change them whenever you like. Upstairs in the attic there are 2 bedrooms with sleeping facilities for 5 grown up persons. The bedrooms are divided by a sliding door. One of the bedrooms is open towards the stairs and the ground floor area. The beds are actually very comfortable mattresses on the wooden floor, put on industrial pallets, which makes the attic very charming and cozy. There is a baby cot as well. The attic has a great air conditioner, it cools off both bedrooms in a few minutes. On the terrace there is a dining table with chairs, deck chairs with soft pillows, a sunshade, and electric grill. Plus of course a little herb garden which we tend with loving care. Pick a few leaves of basil for your own home made tomato sauce or some rosemary for your delicious and tasty fish on a grill. Your refreshing mojito cocktails need just a few leaves of mint to be perfect! Just stretch your arm and pick whatever seasoning you may need. Also feel free to take some herbs home, to keep memories of your wonderful Croatian vacation.

Additional Location Information
The village of Trstenik is situated in the central part of the southern side of the Peljesac peninsula, in the Dubrovnik county, just between the islands of Mljet and Korcula. Trstenik is connected to the mainland by the costal road via Ston and by a ferry line from Ploce to Trpanj.
HOW TO GET THERE:
By airplane: The Dubrovnik airport Cilipi is 120 km away. You can rent a car there and drive to Trstenik for about an hour and a half. You can also take a shuttle bus from the airport and ride to Dubrovnik, where you can take a bus to Trstenik (direction Orebic/Korcula) at the central bus station.
By bus: If you’re coming from Zagreb, you’ll take the bus to the island of Korcula. The road goes through the town of Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Crossing the state border, you’ll need your passport. If you’re coming from Dubrovnik, you’re also taking a bus to Korcula or Orebic. You’ll get off on the main road, just above the bay of Trstenik, and walk down about a kilometer to the village of Trstenik. We can also arrange a pickup for you there.
By car: Coming from Zagreb, you can ride the A1 highway or old road through Lika region. If you would like to avoid crossing the state border in Neum, you can drive to the town of Ploce and take a ferry to the town of Trpanj on the Peljesac peninsula. From Trpanj to Trstenik there is about 20 km.
Coming from Dubrovnik, drive along the coastal road, turn left at the crossing to the Peljesac peninsula and drive some 30 km more to the village of Trstenik.

My first Cottage experience was when I was a single girl, on "chic-Adriatic-places-hopping" type of summer vacation.. Between magnificent Dubrovnik short drive away and crazy Hvar short cruise away :) my stay at Novak's was a soul food in between!
My second was many years later with my hubby and baby boy.. In Trstenik you feel instantly like you belong.. you need the flip flops, the rest is there - the crystal water, beautiful beach, tasty food, nice people, Mediterranean scents, sights and sounds.. Heaven.. Can't wait to take my baby girl there!
