Description
'Les Beaux Chenes', beautiful, tranquil, rural gites, just 4 kms from Pont de Barret, with a large swimming pool, 6m x 12m, set in 4 hectares of private oak and pine woodland. A recently renovated old Provencale stone-built 'Mas'. Overlooking magnificent countryside and nearby mountains. Access to a wood burning pizza oven and barbecue.
The property currently comprises 3 gites:
'Eyzahut' - A lovely, airy ground floor gite, with easy ground floor access via a large, traditional arched doorway. Sleeps 2 to 4.
'Le Barronier', a spacious one bedroom gite is also available. Sleeps 2 to 6. The entrance is via a private external staircase and sun terrace.
'St Maurice', a lovely, airy ground floor gite, with separate kitchen. Sleeps 2 to 4.
A great location for couples or larger groups.
Just 4 kms from the listed historic Roman village, Pont de Barret. Set on the river Roubion, with its many opportunities for swimming, the village has an impressive Roman church and bridge. There are many amenities, with 3 good restaurants, a friendly bar which is open from early until late, a Boulangerie, a Post Office and a Cave selling local wines.
An excellent base for walking, cycling and excellent roads for driving and motorcycling. Wonderful for nature lovers, birdwatchers, food and wine lovers, artists, those who are active or simply want to relax.
A hidden jewel, with sunflowers, lavender and good food and wine, without the crowds.
A weekly market at Pont de Barret where you can sample local produce and experience French life. Weekly markets take place at other nearby towns and villages.

'Eyzahut' - a charming, airy, one bedroom gite on the ground floor, access via South facing sun terrace. Leading to:
Large lounge/diner with kitchenette, traditional vaulted ceiling. A comfortable sofa bed. Leading to:
Bedroom with large double bed, 160 cms. Beautiful traditional stone walls.
Bathroom with easily accessible large Italian shower and w.c.
Beautiful countryside views, yet just 4 kms from the lovely listed Roman village of Pont de Barret.
To the South of La Drome Provencale, nearest historic towns of Montelimar, Crest and Dieulefit are all about 25 minutes away. An excellent base to stay at home, be active or relax or to go sight seeing.

We request no smoking in the rooms, please.
A pet may be accepted with prior agreement, supplement of 5 euros per night per pet.

Response from the owner It was a pleasure to meet Ryan and Colin, who came all the way from America. An amazing, intrepid pair, who seemed to make the most of their time here! One day, they climbed the fairly challenging Trou de Furet and then went off to cycle around vineyards in nearby Provence. Very impressive! Excellent guests who had lots of fun and really looked after the gite. We hope to see them both again!

“Fantastic location, hosts and accommodation”
What can I say, Tracey and Mark saved our holiday. Due to a mistake on our part we had no car for the first couple of days. During this time Mark and Tracey could not have been more helpful. They gave up so much of their time helping us and we are so grateful. We were very tired and slightly stressed after our long day travelling, but on arrival at Les Beaux Chenes, we instantly began to relax. The location is superb, so peaceful and beautiful.The accommodation was perfectly clean, comfortable and well equiped. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, so relaxing after a day of sight seeing. The perfect retreat. The nearest village Pont de Barret is only a short drive away ( which is walkable), here we ate at two of the restaurants and had excellent food at both. The surrounding area is largely undiscovered by tourists, but has so much to offer, with wonderful scenery and lovely villages. We felt so at home with Mark, Tracey and their family (particularly Maurice the dog, who is such a character)and not forgetting the donkeys and the cats. Thank you so much for everything, we wish you all the very best of success for the future. We will be back and recommending Les Beaux Chenes to all our friends and family.
