Grounding and Calm

Staying in the Byre helped me reach a level of relaxation I had not felt for many years. I slept like a log in the very comfortable bed, was nice and warm despite the prevailing snowy conditions and felt instantly 'at home'.

Brilliant retreat away from the hussle

The location was quite and rural. The owners where very friendly and happy to share their garden with us. The scones on arrival where huge and delicious. Accommodation was high spec, very comfortable.

The walk to the village took about 20 minutes, fine for us but a little far for our elderly relatives. Paper Shop, only open mornings, deli, butchers and pubs.

Peaceful

Lovely cottage in beautiful countryside. Ideally placed for walking and cycling as well as being near enough to the coast and towns. Very relaxing and an added bonus was enjoying breakfast on the patio as the weather was fantastic. The cottage is very well appointed and the decor is excellent but not overstated.

Myself and 3 other girls stayed at this beautiful cottage for a month as we were training to be cabin crew at the aviation academy, Newcastle.

A little hidden Gem

Very welcoming proprietors . Cottage was very comfortable and the pub next door was excellent for entertainment and choice of food. Great cottage all you could want and more. Fantastic hosts respect your privacy but are always there if needed for anything. Very peaceful location but only a few minutes drive from main routes. The layout has been well thought out and has everything that we wanted for the stay, we were glad to see that the Lodge has a bath as it is not mentioned on Sykes Cottages, who we booked through.

The perfect place for a holiday

Tawny Nook Cottage is an exceptionally well maintained and equipped property in an ideal location for exploring the Northumbrian coastline, There are several traditional market towns to visit as well as Kielder Lake and Forest which are all within easy reach. We were made very welcome; the basket of provisions was a nice touch and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.
