A wonderful haven in a beautiful part of England. We spent several busy days out walking Exmoor and the Coach House was the ideal resting place at the end of each day. It's tastefully decorated, very comfortable with great facilities and the views are divine. We can't wait to get back there again.

Just arrived home after a wonderful break at Coach House. We loved every minute of it, a beautifully finished cottage, lovely and warm with everything included that you could need...including milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us!!
You could never tire of the view from the kitchen window, bed and pillows were so comfy, with endless hot water
We have 2 dogs and it was great that the garden was enclosed. Just a 5 mins walk down the hill to the bottom ship (dogs welcome), great walks and 5 mins to the beach. The Porlock Walks Guide booklet was brilliant. We had fully prepared with our maps...weren't needed it. Just followed the guide. Dogs are welcome everywhere in this village.
We cannot rate this fab little cottage highly enough. Just sorting dates to go back again...Loved it!

The views are to die for and the location is almost perfect. We cannot help but keep booking a week away at the Coach House as it recharges the rechargeable duracells like no other apartment in this neck of the woods. Fantastic company and such lovely people to deal with. We will be back again and again and again...

The handover instructions are easy to follow and the contact with the owner minimal unless you have a problem. There's a welcome bottle of milk and wine, and some other necessities to get you going.Plenty of leaflets and a book of local amenities and eating places support the clear instructions of the use of the property. Most of all, it is like walking into a secluded haven, comfortable, clean and user friendly. We have dogs and it's a perfect property for them too. We will go back and back.

What a beautiful spot; we had an amazing few days at The Coach House. Caroline (the caretaker) was very helpful and came and welcomed us soon after arriving, the cottage was spotless and incredibly comfortable and we had wonderful views and coastal scenery on our doorstep. The view from the kitchen sink was amazing!
The weather was good so we were out and about, but the DVD player and Sky Sports package were added bonuses. The kitchen was very well-equipped. I have been to plenty of other cottages where there aren't enough pots and pans, but we had no problems at all - little things like a tea strainer and garlic press were handy.
The shower was wonderfully hot and strong, the bed was extremely comfortable and it was beautifully decorated inside - in sum it felt very 'homely' and well looked after - we were impressed.
We loved the location. A three minute walk down to Porlock revealed a pub, two restaurants, a takeaway and a few other shops, plus the harbour and a network of footpaths. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk along the coast to Culbone Church and also walked through the salt marshes to Porlock (returning through the woods) and also visited Withypool and Tarr Stepps on a circular walk. The best walk of all though was the loop from Bossington (NT car park, £3 or free for members) up onto the Downs across Selwrothy Beacon to Selworthy and allerford before returning to the start.
I can thoroughly recommend The Coach House and was also impressed with the service I received from 'Best of Exmoor'.

Warm, comfortable, extremely well appointed cottage for two - we loved the location, fantastic sea views and great walking from the door. Also appreciated the bottle of wine and bottle of milk on our arrival, very thoughtful. Having the full sky package took a bit of getting used to but was great for those long dark winter evenings. There is no mobile service, so don't expect to make phone calls, which could be a problem if you needed to call the housekeeper.

A weekend away for our first wedding anniversary. Lovely cottage, perfect for us with our dog, loads of downstairs space, lovely views, very relaxing, close to the amenities of porlock weir, quiet and restful.

We had a wonderful week hanging out in Porlock Weir and the neighbouring village of Porlock. The Coach House was great, wonderful views and comfortable I highly recommend it. There are great walks from and to both Porlock and Porlock Weir. My favorite was walking inbetween the salt marshes and the shore line towards Bossington Hill. A must do in Porlock Weir is the dinner and film night at the anchor Hotel, the Ship Inn is very friendly, and Porlock is one of the friendlist villages we have ever spent time in, lovely gallery, gorgeos church and the Big Cheese Deli serves lovely lunches showcasing their amazing cheeses, chutneys ect. We will definitely be back!
An outstanding short break in a wonderful position.

We have stayed at the Coach House before and have booked to stay in the future as it is difficult to fault. The welcome from Caroline was lovely as were the coffee, tea, milk and wine left for us. Jess our dog loved the space, the outside and the underpaw heating.
The only reservations we have was that due to our lack of sky knowledge we could not get the Tv's to function properly and an idiots guide would have been welcomed for us freeview plebs. A number of hornets in the adjacent bush need sorting out as do the mains electrics which went off twice; once during the evening and again in the early morning leaving us in total darkness without a torch, candle nor matches (thank goodness for apple iphones as I had my mobile next to the bed for a little light). One ceiling light needs proper repair and another needed a replacement bulb. However, I am confident that our concerns will be looked into with the same sense of urgency as were the queries we had during our stay. To sum up, these issues should not detract from the overwhelming air of excellence that the Coach has to offer which is why we believe it is still worth two future bookings and an overall 5* rating.

Friendly welcome and invitation to use all the gardens. The cottage was very well equipped. The beds were the most comfortable ever - a real wrench to leave. View from chairs on decking was almost ethereal, both in sunlight and of the Welsh coastline at night. It really is as good as the photo! Gentle noise from the sea as the tide ebbed and flowed. The night sky was so clear. Good access to coastline and Exmoor for walks - both gentle and strenuous. All amenities one could reasonably want in Porlock Weir and Porlock. Lots to do in the surrounding area.
Just great - sitting on the terrace and looking how the colors c
