Gilligans Port Barton Palawan

Palawan was unaffected by the recent typhoon and our 2 homes in Port Barton were also unaffected. It's business as usual for Gilligans Port Barton and our other listing Villa Marguerita.

Gilligans Hideaway Guesthouse is a holiday home with a relaxed beach house feel, situated in a pristine beachfront location with 2 acres of grounds, 185 metres of semi private beach and no neighbours for 200 metres.

The view from Gilligans is outstanding. You'll probably spend hours of your time on the front veranda or our beachfront bar table or our new Cabana looking out to the stunning views of the beach and the warm blue waters of the marine park ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Flights from Manila to Puerto Princesa:
Palawan is a one hour domestic flight from Manila airport . There are several airlines that service the Manila to Puerto Princessa route, i.e. Cebu Pacific, Zestair, Air Phillipines, Tiger and lastly Philippine Airlines. Book as early as possible to obtain the cheapest flights. As the planes fill the prices increase. Expect to pay from $30 US to $90 US each way. Try to book morning flights to Palawan and afternoon flights back to Manila for convenience.

Port Barton is located on the west coast of Palawan between El Nido and the renowned Underground River. The trip to Port Barton from Puerto Princesa is picturesque as it follows the east coast of Palawan and then weaves through the small villages that dot the countryside. You'll see a wide cross section of Filipno culture and life along the road. It's a pleasant 2 and a quarter to 3 hour trip to Port Barton, and Gilligans Hideout is a 20 minute boat trip from our sister home at Port Barton. Don't be put off by the drive. The road is scenic and most is highway with very little traffic. All of the major resort areas of the Phillipines have significant travel times, and Port Barton is no different, and it's worth the trip!

From Puerto Princesa to Port Barton:
The daily jeepney from Puerto Princesa to Port Barton leaves before 8.30 AM every day and costs only Php 300 per person whilst a good quality 4x4 airconditioned Shuttle Van can be organised for a direct trip from the airport to Port Barton for around Php 4500. We have an old 4X4 Pathfinder utility available for groups of 3 or 4 without aircon for Php 4000. The last few kilometres of the Port Barton road is still in poor condition, so a 4x4 is recommended. We can organise the transport for you once we've received your booking request form and confirmed your booking.

Monkeys and native animals can be seen along the scenic route which travels north over Palawans beautiful mountains and beside its fantastic coastline.
