Additional Location Information

Jollimore Lane Cottage is situated on a small plot of land overlooking the white sandy beaches of the Port Joli Peninsular .

The "cottage beach" is a short one-minute walk down a shared raised path along the edge of tidal mudflat that empties and fills twice a day. The white sandy beach is perfect for children of all ages. Grab the sunscreen and a book, bury your toes in sand; dig a hole, build a sand castle; breathe in the fresh ocean air. At low tide the beach literally stretches for miles … just waiting to be explored.

The ecologist in you will be amazed by the abundance of shorebirds and wet-land wildlife. Terns swoop through the air and dive into the ocean, while small shorebirds scurry along the water's edge always managing to out-step the tide.

The beach directly in front of the property is an “active beach” with an ever changing appearance. In recent years, the ocean has broken over a portion of the dune system and is now slowly filling the once wetland with salt water and sand.

If you can manage to tear yourself away from the beach, it is just twenty minutes to Liverpool for festivals, museums, restaurants, shopping, live music and nightlife. The charming historic town of Shelburne with its beautiful harbor and award winning restaurants is only 30 minutes away. It's a 2-hour drive to Halifax International Airport and 1.5 hours to Yarmouth.
