Additional Location Information

Set at the top of a hill, Rivers End Cottage has a lovely view of the Broad River as it meets the Port Mouton Bay. It is a pleasant five-minute stroll through the woods to the white sands of Summerville Beach, where the Broad River joins the ocean and the Trestle hiking trail wends its way along the riverbank up towards higher more rugged terrain.

Further along the Lighthouse route, White Point Resort offers dining, surfing lessons, and a 9-hole golf course. It’s a twenty-minute drive to Liverpool, historically home of the infamous Privateers and more recently known for its museums, shopping and restaurants.

There are 6 stunning beaches in the immediate vicinity that are all easily accessible: Summerville Beach; Hunts Point Beach; Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct Beach; White Point Beach; Wobemkak Beach and the always picture perfect Carters Beach.

A little further afield are the harbour towns of Shelburne and Lockeport; the fresh water lakes and walking trails of Kejimkujik National Park, the lush hills of the Annapolis Valley and red sands of the Fundy Shore.

A thirty-minute drive takes you to Bridgewater and the beautiful scenic drive along the banks of the LaHave River. Mahone Bay and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lunenberg are just 45 minutes from the cottage, while Halifax and the international airport is ninety minutes away

But, if all that site seeing is too much activity, you may prefer to linger on the deck, enjoying the view while listening to sounds of the sea.
