“17 Harbour Place”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2021

Another amazing stay at 17 Harbour Place. Fabulous welcome pack on arrival and cottage was spotless. Not to mention the Homemade Steak pie, potatoes and cabbage the was left in the fridge for us (Arnie is an outstanding cook). The log burner in the living room is a must in the evening, the room is so cozy and comfortable, you won't want to move. Weather was great, so managed to have lots of day trips to explore the surrounding area and other villages. The view from the cottage itself is just stunning and if your lucky to get a sunset, grab yourself a coffee or indeed a wine and watch the beautiful colours in the sky as the sun goes down, while sitting outside on the benches and picnic table provided in the sitting area.. You won't be disappointed "breathtaking". We will be back Arnie!! Thankyou

“Refreshed”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2020

We really enjoyed and benefitted from our week away. The house was spotless when we arrived and a generous welcome pack started the break on the right note. The accommodation is flexible with 2 living rooms both made cosy with stoves. The scenery is beautiful and local walks spectacular. A perfect spot for a Covid holiday because there are so many local walks and interesting villages to explore.

Really lovely home, that has everything you need for a stay in Portknockie. Really liked the outdoor sitting area looking out over the harbour. Would definitely stay again.

“A hidden gem”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2018

This lovely house is like the Tardis, you open the door and SO much space, upstairs, downstairs, outside ..... everywhere! Firstly, excellent communications from the owners - even though they were away, they kept making sure everything was going well by a text here and there, nice and reassuring. Pre visit communication was clear and very informative, didn't have a single niggle or worry. 17 Harbour Place faces the harbour so you can watch the sun go down from the garden and watch it come back again by crossing the road and looking right. Walking around the harbour, exploring the little paths or walking over the Moray trail, you don't have to go far from the house to start an adventure - its an awesome house in an awesome location. If you have dogs the Moray trail is literally on the doorstep, the path takes you to the gorgeous beaches of Cullen and then you walk back in time for breakfast. Food for the soul kind of dog walking, sea views, fresh air and a beach at the end of it - it takes about an hour each way. This house has an incredibly high spec on fixtures, fittings with an overall feel that money has been spent well here. The kitchen is huge so great for kids and dogs and fully equipped for every kind of dining occasion. Location : Port Knockie itself is wonderful, the neighbours lovely and chatty. A small food shop and a magnificent fish and chip shop. But the best part of being in Port Knockie is that it felt like a gateway to so many places - just buy a map and plan each day, near or far, it's all rather spectacular. (one tip, it's worth the drive to get over to Slains Castle either early or late in the day - such history and really quite a scary place sitting on the edge of the cliffs) All in all, 17 Harbour Place is one of those holiday cottages that you know you go back to .... time and time again.

“Halfterm holiday”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2018

Accomadation was just perfect, beautiful throughout but could do with another loo. Kitchen is well equipped but could do with more cutlery, we were always running out. Big Tesco at Buckie. The pub in Portknockie is an eye opener but we had a real good afternoon there, getting quite tipsey but the landlord got hungry and wanted to close so he could eat, so funny. The walk to Cullen is beautiful alone cliff top leading down to the massive beach, passing on the way Bow Fiddle and Jennys Well. Cullen Golf Club is very friendly and we went in for coffee and the loo of course. Other side of the harbour is Cullen Pet Cemetery, well worth a look. We walked back along the old train track all the way to Portknockie kept going even when there was a barrier closing the pathway due to a small land slide. We drove to Loch Ness and then all the way round Loch Ness, didnt see Nessie but saw lots of snow fall and then sunshine and then snow fall again, full day out. Visited Fort George home of the Black Watch Regiment, amazing place. Visited Baxters factory, museum and resturant, all very good, food was lush. Dolphin centre was closed, walked on the beach but didnt see the dolphins. Visited Avimore and again it snowed, went on the train ride, thought this was a bit short and expensive but again a good day out. We did not want to come home, we had a great winter holiday and it was not as cold as we thought it was going to be. Defo do it again xxxxxx Karen Jodie Logan Jayde Dawn Roy and Niamh
