Villa Amica is a gracious 80-square-meter (about 861square feet) house which sleeps four people. It features a terrace and a small garden with a wide view of the sea and Positano . The villa is equipped with air-conditioning.
There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a large living-room, a kitchen and a laundry-room with WC.
Villa Amica is located in the historical area of Positano and in one of the most beautiful panoramic places of the town: the villa is an old house built attached to the middle part of that high rocky spur overlooking the sea and which seems to “sustain” the main and most picturesque part of Positano, photographed and printed in every postcard.
From every angle of the house you will enjoy a panorama of incredible beauty which consists of the sea, the beach, and part of Positano, all right below you.
In order to reach the villa from the main street of Positano, where you will see the stop of the local bus, you will have to take a pedestrian street consisting of about 70 steps. You will then reach the secondary entrance of the villa. If you want to reach the main entrance, you will have to climb other 50 steps. 150 meters (about 492 feet) away, you will find the first restaurants, and 200 meters (about 656 feet) away there is a food shop.
You don’t need a car during your stay at Villa Amica, but in case you have one, you can book a pay parking space in a nearby garage.
The terrace and the garden
Villa Amica has an enchanting terrace overlooking the sea and also a small garden. The terrace lies in front of the living-room and kitchen, and it is embellished by the crown of an orange tree planted in the garden below.
In front of you are the sun, the sea, and a fascinating view of a side of the bay of Positano which is called “L’Incanto” (The Enchantment) due to its romantic beauty. By looking below, you will see the picturesque beach of Positano and the sparkling and colorful majolica dome of the Cathedral. To enjoy such nature spectacle as if in the first row of a theater, you will have a table with chairs and deck chairs available on the terrace.
From the terrace you will be able to reach the little garden below by climbing down a few steps. You will find a table with chairs placed under a large white umbrella and also a barbecue. You will soon realize that such green angle is just perfect and delightful to spend time outdoors, in front of the same enchanting view seen from the terrace.
Villa Amica is an age-old and two-storey house with high vaulted ceilings. It has been carefully restored, embracing all the fascination of the old houses of Positano.
The entrance door faces a picturesque and very narrow pedestrian street which is actually a stairway. On the upper floor of the house you will find two bedrooms, both featuring windows with an extraordinary view of the sea and Positano.
One bedroom has a double bed while the other has two single beds. The two single beds can be placed one next to the other so as to have a double bed. An indoor staircase communicates the bedrooms with the living-room. The bathroom is right by the staircase. The bathroom is spacious and well-decorated with vivid local terracotta tiles. It features a large shower and an hair dryer.
The living-room displays high vaulted ceilings. Here you will find the dining table. At Villa Amica you will find a personal computer and a wireless Internet DSL connection. If you have a wi-fi laptop you will be able to connect to the Internet. In one nook of the living-room, you will find a large and comfortable kitchen equipped with a four-burner stove, a large fridge with freezer, an oven, a microwave oven, and a dishwasher.
From the living-room you can reach the terrace through two patio doors. On the terrace you will also find a gracious room which is equipped with a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board, a WC, and a sink. This small room has a window which frames a truly fascinating view of Positano: as soon as I arrived in the place, I thought to myself: “I am in the laundry-room which overlooks the world’s most gorgeous panorama!”
Villa Amica has been pleasantly decorated with vivid terracotta tiles, and its furnishings are bright, elegant, and complete.
If you want to reach the beach from Villa Amica, it is possible and convenient to take the local minibus which runs constantly within and around Positano.
At least once, if your knees allow you to, take some time and do not miss the chance to descend towards the beach on foot.
You will have to go along a path which unravels through old pedestrian streets and little narrow stairways enclosed by the walls of the houses which here and there unveil bits of the sea scenery. You will walk inside this little town which is often gazed at by fascinated tourists from the sea.
This will be the best way to go on a search for the most authentic aspects of Positano… and of course, once you have arrived at the beach, you can dive into the sea, or along with the crowds of tourists, after a deserved stop to enjoy some ice-cream sitting in a bar in front of the sea, you can go back to villa comfortably sitting on a bus!

This 2 bedroom villa has everything you need in beautiful Positano. The brothers (owners) will take care of your every need and they speak great English. The view from the Patios is awesome. We have been to Posi. before and this is our favorite place. Do not come if you can not climb steps, in fact do not come to amalfi Coast if you can't climb steps. The brothers help carry the luggage from the nearby street to the unit. As in all of Posi. you must park in a parking garage. This is a small price to pay for the beauty that is Positano. If you rent this 2-story unit, you will not be disappointed.

Villa amica is perfect - outstanding location, incredible view from either of two decks, nicely appointed, immaculately clean and maintained, airy and spacious - an absolute gem. Equally important, the English-speaking owners are very attentive and helpful and guided us to excellent non-tourist restaurants and attractions. On a scale of 1 to 10, we give Villa amica a 15, and would be happy to return.

Two couples stayed in this 2 bedroom Villa for a week. Positano is a beautiful town and access to other towns along the coast is very easy, as well a Capri. The Villa is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean and comfortable. There were alot of stairs down to the main road, but that is all part of the wonderful experience, and as long as you took it easy it was a great stroll. The owners (2 brothers) were extremely accomodating, visiting us a couple of times ensuring we had everything we needed and knew our way around. They are very proud of their villa and of Italy. We are already planning a return vacation to Villa amica. Summer in italy makes it very easy to book.

the pictures cannot do justice to villa amica. you have to be there to experience it. it is even better than the pictures.
clean, quiet, walking distance to town, the place for a perfect vacation. the views are beautiful.
Mr. Gianluca and his brother were more than gracious. they gave us fresh fruit and oil and vinnegar during our stay, brought us clean linens and even were there to carry our luggage during arrival and departure. and in positano, you are talking about 100-200 steps to reach the street from the villa.
summer in italy is also top notch. very helpful and quick to respond to questions you may have about your vacation.
overall rating of summer in italy, their staff andrea and Luca, villa amica and Mr. Gianluca and his brother:
11 on a scale of 10.

This was hospitality and comfort at its finest. The staff at Summer in Italy were most helpful in arranging for our visit and preparing us for the adventure with regular newsletters with helpful advice. Our host/homeowner, Gianluca, is a very fine gentleman and did everything in his power to make us feel welcome and comfortable. He helped us to the villa with our luggage and again when we left. He also made sure that all of the lights were bright and that we had lots of hot water. He provided coffee, olive oil and vinegar and a wonderful bowl for fresh fruit - oranges from his garden! The villa is simply but elegantly appointed with an Italina/Positano theme. It was very spacious and had many special comforts such as a washing machine and two decks that were cosy and perfect for sitting out for meals. And, it had a BIG bathroom! There were beautiful views of the sea and shore both inside and outside. The music at night gently filters up from the bands below so that you feel as if you are in a big amphitheatre. I would love to go back there and finish walking the Sentiere dei degli (The Pathway of the Gods)which we started in Nocelle after taking the town bus up to Montepertusi and then walking up to Nocelle. It is about 4 kilometers long so people walk it one way and are picked up at the other end. Take walking sticks for good balance as the trail is rough! We found that all the stairs in Positano were not too great a challenge because there is always a railing or plumber's pipe to grab onto. Don't believe all the tales about having to be in good shape. I walked in a pair of crocs everywhere with no problem.

Villa Amica is everything the Summer in Italy website advertises it to be - and more. The place is beautifully maintained, super clean and well located. The views are magnificent, the appliances, and plumbing are all modernized and owner Gianluca is an unbelievably kind and friendly man. You won't be disappointed. Perfect for couples or small families.

when we arrived gianluca was very helpful.after realising that we had a young child with us he fitted stair gates for us. the villa had everything that you could need, and was lovely and clean. the views were lovely. the villa is a way up the hill but we didnt mind that as the bus stop was very close. we tended to walk down to the beach/town and got the bus back, although i think if we didnt have the kids with us we would have walked back up aswell.it is a lot easier to walk back up the road than the steps though. positano itself is lovely. we had a great holiday.

Villa Amica is a superbly kept villa on the hillside above Positano. The owner and Summer in Italy were fantastic and extremely well organised.
The location gave you a fantastic Italian experience as long as you don't mind the steps. Great views, oranges on the tree, great Vino up the road and just about everything you need. Would definately book this one again.
