Newly remodeled cottages with inspiration from the original prairie style architecture. The units were renovated with focus on the environment and conservation principals. Construction materials and finishes are environmentally friendly, combining functionality and beauty, and reflecting the natural surroundings.
During your stay you will have piece of mind knowing your cottage is climate controlled by the most advanced high efficiency heating and air conditioning units. No fossil fuels used for maintaining your comfort. You will also notice our high efficiency lighting, plumbing and appliances. All flooring is wood laminate and tile, no carpet. This was an easy choice, while carpet is less expensive, there are many health related issues with carpet. You might notice a theme here, we are hoping to provide you with a healthy, environmentally friendly experience for you to enjoy.
If you appreciate natural beauty and seclusion this is your place. We are located on a bluff with over 600' of frontage on the Wisconsin River. You can choose to explore the river to the north and take in its undisturbed beauty with its many backwaters. You can go for miles without any sign of civilization. This is unique to this section of river that starts at our dock. It would be very difficult to find this kind of seclusion in northern Wisconsin. You can also choose to traverse down river to Lake Wisconsin. The route down river to the lake is also very scenic, take in the bluffs with impressive rock outcroppings, stop at a sand bar for a picnic, or a swim.
Many varieties of fish thrive in these waters, making Lake Wisconsin and the Wisconsin River a fisherman’s paradise. The 9500 acre lake has 57 miles of shoreline, and the lake and river have more than 18 miles of navigable waterway with a depth that varies to a maximum of 40 feet. Tourists from all over the world come here to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. Once a favorite hunting and fishing ground of the early tribes, it is now a popular tourist destination for water sports as well as more leisurely activities and family adventures.
For your convenience, a DNR boat landing and public park with tennis courts is directly adjacent to our property. A bait shop is down the street. There is also a tavern serving lunch and dinner adjacent.

We stayed last weekend, and had a great time! We rented one unit and my parents stayed in the adjoining one. When we opened the door between the units, it seemed so much bigger, and we could share everything. The unit is clean, and exactly as advertised. We found everything we needed for a long weekend. It was a plus to be able to bring our Shih-poo with us; she liked the location and the fishing, too. Craig was so nice and easy to work with. The boat launch was 2 minutes away (if that), and this property has a set of stairs right down to the water. There was a dock right there, too, but not installed yet this season - probably due to the high water. The fishing was fabulous. The location was good - right on the Wisconsin river, and a convenience store with water access was so close if you needed bait, etc. Bigger town shopping was only about 10-15 minutes away in Portage. We even ventured into Baraboo to visit the casino (about 25-30 minutes, maybe).
It was peaceful and relaxing, with a focus on fishing. We would definitely consider staying here again. Thanks, Craig... appreciated everything!
