Casa Placida is a characteristic independent house built on the sloping cliff in front of the sea. It sleeps four people. From Casa Placida you will enjoy a fascinating view of the sea and of the coast from Positano to Punta Campanella , the western tip of the Sorrentine peninsula , and of the island of Capri at the horizon. Casa Placida is 50 square meters (540 square feet). It features two private terraces and air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed).
You will be in the center of Praiano , approximately 100 meters (330 feet) from restaurants, the shops and the stop for the SITA bus and for the local bus. You will find the closest beach (Spiaggia della Gavitella ) at roughly 600 meters (660 yards) including 400 stairway steps. You will reach Casa Placida from the street level going down a short walkway that cuts through a garden and includes approximately 30 stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Casa Placida. If you do have one, you will be able to park it nearby, free of charge or for a fee, along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces).
As soon as you enter the house you will be attracted by the panorama that will be in front of you. Even if you are inside the living room, looking through the glass door you will see only sea and sky. Leaning out, you will discover that you will have a 180-degree view of one of the most beautiful tracts of the Amalfi Coast for the length of your stay. In front of you there will be breathtaking view in its entirety: below you will see a stripe of white house of Praiano, each one surrounded by the green of its own garden, which is roughly interrupted by the blue sea.
The Torre di Grado watchtower and the majolica dome of the Church of Saint Gennaro stand among the houses. On your right, your sight will embrace a wide view of the coast which surrounds the characteristic village of Positano, and will reach Punta Campanella and the island of Capri . The famous Faraglioni of Capri can be seen at the horizon, and, closer, you can admire the small islands of Li Galli .
From Casa Placida you will reach the sea by bus or on foot, with a long stroll to the beach called "Praia", which is at approximately a mile. Or you can travel along a long stairway (approximately 400 steps) that will take you to a charming small beach called Gavitella. Facilities and restaurants operate on the beaches in the summer time.
The first terrace is on the roof level. It is 25 square meters (270 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from another terrace along an external stairway. It is equipped with a table, chairs and deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and of the coast from Positano to Punta Campanella, the western tip of the Sorrentine peninsula, and of the island of Capri at the horizon.
The second terrace is 10 square meters (107 square feet) large. It is shaded by a pergola with a bamboo roof. It is equipped with a table, chairs and deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a charming view of the sea and of the coastline.
The furnishings of the living room include a divan that unfolds into a double bed. In this room you will find a television. From the living room you will be able to enter the terrace through a French door. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
The kitchen is well equipped, with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker and a toaster. There is a table to seat four guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the terrace with a view of the sea and of the coastline.
The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has a window with a view of the sea. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and large fully-enclosed shower.
The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a bathtub with shower wand. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the living room.
In the laundry room you will find a washing machine at your disposal.

Casa Placida representatives everything you need for a holiday on the amalfi Coast. This was our third holiday to this region and Praiano is our favourite destination. Central to all the tourist spots but a wonderful little local village. The house is accessible from the street and close to all the village amenities. Three balconies provide the most spectacular views. We were a group of 3 - the house was ideal. The hosts were wonderful and I wished we could speak Italian so we could converse with them. We will definitely come back again.

The home was very clean, cozy and located in a beautiful area. We enjoyed balcony, the views, and commondities in the house. The location was good, and the town of praiano is limited to the amenities, such as the beach, not that we needed on this trip, it was too cold! The bus location was great, and easy enough to go to Positano, or Amalfi, etc.Loved the fact that the town had the gorcery stores close by and pharmacy. The only thing i could remark on is the two mattresses in the bed room, not so comfortable, kept falling into the middle, back was very sore...
This is a place for someone who may be looking for some tranquillity and wants to enjoy a relaxing place, but if you like to walk to different shops and restaraunts, and beach, then Amalfi is the place. This is my second time at the Amalfi Coast, and I did previously stay within a five min. walk to the Center of Amalfi, was not necessary to take the bus everyday, to go somewhere.
Glad i experienced both, and I may add that Summer In Italy, did specifically give me the same description of both places, the first time I wanted to stay at the Amalfi Coast. They were so honest and precise, appreciated it.
Can't wait to visit another location!!!!
Ciao Andrea, Luca and all the staff at Summer In Italy.
P.S. I will make sure to come and visit all of you, on my next visit...

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Placida. Our owners/caretakers, while not
speaking English, were very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive.
The first morning we were welcomed with fresh figs and eggs. It was fig
season, and they shared generously with us. The apartment is very nicely
done, and we cooked most of our meals in the very pleasant kitchen. The view
from the balconies is fabulous. We would definitely return. This is the second
time we have used Summer in Italy. The website is user friendly and gives very
