Casa Susanna is a bright and elegant apartment which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps four people. From Casa Susanna you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea and of the coast, from Positano to the island of Capri and of the small Li Galli islands . Casa Susanna is 60 square meters (645 square feet). It features a nice private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and winter heating.
You will be at a short distance from the center of Praiano , where you will find restaurants and shops. You will find the stop for the SITA bus a few meters (feet) away and the closest beach (Spiaggia della Gavitella ) at roughly 500 meters (550 yards) including 400 stairway steps. You will reach Casa Susanna from the street level going down approximately 12 stairway steps.
You will not need a car to stay at Casa Susanna. If you do have one, you will be able to park it along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces).
Casa Susanna is an ancient fishermen's house, completely renewed in 2009.
When you arrive on the large terrace you will be happy to have chosen Casa Susanna for your vacation: your sight will be able to wander free over an uninterrupted wide horizon of sky and sea, and over one of the most beautiful seascapes that the charming coast of Amalfi is able to offer.
Below the terrace you will see short tract of coast, and then the cliff steeply drops into the sea. This tract of coast is covered by the green of the olive trees, broken here and there by the white roofs of a few small houses. Further away, your sight will embrace a wide view of the sea and of the coast which surrounds the characteristic village of Positano, and will reach Punta Campanella and the island of Capri . The famous Faraglioni of Capri can be seen at the horizon, and, closer, you can admire the small islands of Li Galli .
A large window separates the living room from the terrace, allowing you to enjoy the splendid view of the sea from inside.
You will be able to walk to the sea and to a characteristic beach cut into the cliff (called " La Gavitella ") along a path that includes approximately 400 steps. A bit further away, at approximately 1.5 km (one mile), you will find the beautiful beach of Praia, which can be reached by bus, and where you will be able to rent small boats and take diving classes. During the good seasons cafes and restaurants are open at both beaches.
If you like hiking, in the area you will find walks that are famous for their extraordinary beauty, such as the " Sentiero degli Dei ": Path of the Gods .
Casa Susanna is the right choice if you are looking for a simple and comfortable place and for the most authentic charm of the Amalfi Coast , just out of the frantic holiday life of the most crowded areas.
The tourist spots of the coast are easily reached, since just a few steps from the house you can take the local bus, which connects Praiano to the beach of Praia (1.5 km, 1.5 miles) and with Positano (6 km, 4 miles). Long distance buses are also available, and will allow you to reach Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento , Naples , Pompeii , Paestum and so on. Ferries to reach Capri, Sorrento as well as the other villages along the coast are available in Positano (6 km, 4 miles) and in Amalfi (8 km, 5 miles).
The terrace is 80 square meters (860 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a porch. It is equipped with tables, chairs, a sun umbrella and two sun loungers. From the terrace you will have a fascinating view of the sea and of the coast from Positano to Punta Campanella, the western tip of the Sorrentine peninsula , and of the island of Capri on the horizon.
The furnishings of the living room are simple. The furnishings include a sofa. The dining table can accommodate four guests. In this room you will find a satellite television and a CD player. We stayed for 2 weeks in Casa Susanna, Praiano in June. From the time we arrived until the sad time we had to depart, i have nothing but positive things to say.
Casa Susanna is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The view is simply amazing, to wake up and have breakfast on the terrace with that view,,, well you do think your dreaming. We found that the kitchen was well equipped for cooking your evening meal and grocery and butcher shops very close by.
The town of Praiano is lovely , with great restaurants, and very friendly people.
The bus which takes you up and down the amalfi coast
is located 2 mins walk from Casa Susanna and is very easy to use.
There is not a bad thing we can say about this property, loved it.
"Excellent accommodation , best location , brilliant view , all w"

Although we arrived late in the evening to Casa Susanna , we were met by the very friendly owner who helped us with our baggage to the flat and gave us a very full explanation on the touring and transport possibilities along the amalfi coast .
It's hard to tell what was best about the flat . Maybe the enormous patio with the breathtaking view . Or the two comfortable bed rooms each with attached bathroom . Or the fully equipt kitchen and dining room . Or the fact that there were only 6 steps down from the road to the flat .
The flat and location with the bus stop almost infront of the front door , the super market 2 minutes up the road , the internet point right next door . We couldn't have asked for anything more .
I can't think of one single thing that i didn't like about the flat ... it was 100% perfect

It is centrally located in Praiano. It's very clean, bright and the views could not be more spectacular. I want to return every year. The owner was born here and has totally put every effort to make this as comfortable as possible to his guests. The apartment is well appointed. It's the ultimate vacation paradise. It really does not get better than this!

Praiano is a central location on the amalfi Coast, and Casa Susanna is the perfect spot within Praiano, especially because of it's proximity to an internet point. The accommodations are clean and the balcony is spectacular. Excellent restaurants are nearby. We felt is was a good value and will return.

Casa Susanna was everything we hoped for and more!
It was spotlessly clean on our arrival, our host greeted us, showed us the facility, showed us some written information on the area and answered any questions we had.
The view is amazing and the big terrace was a pleasure to use for early morning coffee and lat evening wine and cheese.
For such a small village, there are a variety of restaurants to choose from.
The bus service is great -- we parked our car and took the bus to Positano, Almalfi, Sorrento and more.
Parking can bit a bit of a problem as there is only street parking a short walk for the apartment, and most of it is designated for the residents -- sometimes we had to drive around longer than we wanted to and had to keep coming back to check for a spot -- but that is the only small issue I had -- everything else was perfect.
The entire process of booking through Summer in Italy was a joy - they are prompt, courteous and extremely helpful.

With email and the internet available next door, the bus stop almost literally across the street, the view from the patio--it had almost everything we could want.
I did think the kitchen was a little disorganized in its setup and that there weren't enough cups and glasses (no wine glasses?) for use. For someone who enjoys shopping and cooking at home, these were minor annoyances.
The accommodations were simple but clean. It was the patio and the view that really sold us, and that certainly did not disappoint.
If you are looking for a quiet town with little shops each specializing in its own few items, friendly people who did well in understanding our limited Italian (and really appreciated our efforts in that regard), then I would definitely recommend Praiano.

We loved Casa Susanna! We were so happy to be in the Praiano area away from
the major tourist areas on the Amalfi coast.
Casa Susanna has excellent access to grocery stores, restaurants, bus service,
and the Internet Point. People in the town were very helpful.
The terrace is absolutely fabulous, and we liked being right in town.
There is some inevitable traffic noise, but the convenient location more than
compensates for it. Apartment furnishings are adequate. We would definitely
go back to Casa Susanna. We also were impressed with the Summer in Italy
website. We found it accurate and easy to use..

Staying at Casa Susanna the last week in October was a complete delight from the moment we arrived in Praiano. When I told the bus driver where we needed to get off, he said, "Next stop!" Well, the next stop turned out to be one stop before we needed to get off. Fortunately, we were at Hotel Esmeraldo, and the proprietor saw our puzzled faces and took us under his wing. We gave him the emails from Summer in Italy, and he called our host who was there within five minutes to take us to the apartment.
The apartment itself is simple, close to stores, only 11 steps down from the main street, and had everything we needed for our stay. However, the incredible million-euro view of the Mediterranean, the beautiful church in Praiano, and Positano in the distance made it exceptional!
Our very welcoming host was most helpful in telling us about areas to visit, and there was a plethora of tourist information in the apartment.
We enjoyed several meals at the ristorante above the church--right on the main road through Praiano, and the view was magnificent.
Day trips by bus to Positano and Ravello, with a stop in Amalfi, were everything we had hoped for. To go to Ravello from Amalfi, we took the sight-seeing mini-bus with an open top and it afforded views which would not have been possible in a closed vehicle. If at all possible, go to Ravello. On a mountainside overlooking the blue sea with a beautiful piazza and lovely old villas and other buildings, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We only regretted we were not there when musical events were scheduled.
We loved Casa Susanna--enjoyed being so close to the internet cafe, the bus stop, and only eleven steps down from the road. Since the bedroom is in the back of the apartment, the noisy street was not an issue.
I am an artist, www.oliverartgallery.com, and I have painted one painting from this leg of our trip--can't wait to paint the others.
