Welcome to Mayo Cottage located in the beautiful and quiet town of Southern Bay on the Bonavista Peninsula. This recently constructed, two bedroom, two bath four star waterfront vacation home offers modern comforts and conveniences, privacy and beautiful views of this picturesque Bay. It’s a wonderful place to relax, unwind and take in the natural surroundings.

Mayo Cottage is conveniently located for day trips to the many attractions found on the Bonavista Peninsula. It is within easy driving distance of the historic towns of Trinity and Bonavista. Explore the natural, historic and cultural features of this popular tourist destination. Spend the day whale and ice berg watching, visit a puffin colony*, hike to resettled communities, take a boat tour, go kayaking, attend a play, visit museums, go golfing or relax on the deck. We are located 44 kilometers from the TCH.

Mayo Cottage is self catering. It is cleaned before and after each guest's stay. You will retrieve your key from a key storage compartment that is located next to the entry door. It is easy to use with a combination lock. You will be advised by email of your combination prior to your occupancy date. There is contact information at the Cottage if you need to talk with the owner/operator. Otherwise we respect your privacy. There are two binders containing information about the Cottage, it's appliances etc., as well as local attractions.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Elizabeth (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
