Description

Stormy Castle is one of South Wales' leading self-catering holiday homes ideal for groups of up to 14 guests. Think superb location just ten minutes walk from the beach, tremendous views, six acres private land, Welsh ponies, barbecues at sunset and short walks across the fields to the village pub the King's Head, at the heart of Llangennith village. Stormy is lovingly taken care of and invariably guests find themselves returning on a yearly basis.

Activities? You are spoilt for choice: long walks, cycling, pony trekking on the beach, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, paragliding, fishing, boats trips to see seals; all on your doorstep.

Overlooking the Westerly tip of the Gower peninsula, the first area in Britain to be designated by the National Trust as an area of "oustanding natural beauty", guests will find the house and its annex, just a few metres away, very comfortable and fully equipped. It has a reading room, conservatory, four bedrooms in the main house with two further bedrooms in the annex. It also boasts a large kitchen with a table that seats 14 and a spacious adjoining living room.

Over the past four years of operation we have welcomed groups of walkers, surfers, large family gatherings celebrating special birthday milestones, cyclists and couples looking to escape from London for the weekend. Guests have travelled from as far as the USA, Malaysia, Dubai, Switzerland and locally too!

The perfect holiday in an outstanding location. It's also very much a family home; we return every Summer with our four young children to enjoy Stormy...

“The perfect getaway”

What a perfect place for a large group of friends, family or in our case hen party!! The house itself is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and has so much space, it's just ideal. Practically it has everything you need - from kitchen utensils to such comfortable beds! The views are just incredible as well, you have to see it to believe it but there is nothing better than looking out and seeing acres of green rolling hills with the beach and sea on the horizon within 10 minutes walking distance. The beach itself is so clean - unlike any other I've seen in the UK, and the mix of green hills and beaches means you can do any activity from gentle walking to coasteering (which was amazing - Ripnrock is the place to go!) But just as important; Helen (the owner) is a fantastic communicator and so helpful, the whole process was just so well co-ordinated and friendly. The only downside - you won't want to leave.

Stormy Castle is a lovely place in a superb location. The beach is within easy reach either by road or on foot. I stayed there with a large group of friends and their children, everyone absolutely loved it and we will definitely be back. I could not recommend this place enough!

We picked Stormy Castle on the recommendation of a friend and it couldn't have been more perfect. We are a mixed group of nine, with a baby making us 9 1/2! We all go away together twice a year, so we have a lot of experience of this type of property. The house itself was clean, very well equipped and laid out and had a lovely homely atmosphere. Plenty of space for people to get together as a group, or to chill out alone or in smaller groups. We booked the annexe too due to the size of our group, and that was of an equally high standard. The booking procedure was very straightforward, and the owners/caretaker were amazingly helpful and supportive in making sure we had everything we need. We even had a problem with the boiler in the annexe and the caretaker was out to sort within the hour! The location is beautiful, and we all agreed that the house and setting were so lovely that it didn't need to be the kind of weekend where you have to plan wall-to-wall activities - just let Stormy Castle cast its spell over you and enjoy every minute!

This is now the third time I've stayed at Stormy Castle and it's always excellent, even if the weather is bad. The panoramic views are superb, the beach is short walk and the pub in village does great food & ale. There's WiFi in the house, so you can stay as connected or as disconnected as you want. Will certainly be back at some point in the future.

We were looking for a big house near the sea, near the pub and not too far from town... and Stormy Castle was perfect. Recently refurbished, it has everything you need for a holiday by the sea, it suited a group of adults, but I'd have loved this place as a kid.

Stormy Castle is a fantastic house which provides really very comfortable accommodation for all fourteen guests - something rare in holiday lets where at least a couple of beds seem squeezed in! It's the extra touches that make Stormy Castle so special: lovely, clean, fresh linen; really comfy beds; WiFi; beach towels; board games in case of rain; a welcome pack of tea & coffee. Even on the two rainy days we had whilst there the house wasn't cramped for all fourteen of us: the kitchen is large and then there are two living rooms and a further conservatory.

My college friends and I stayed at 'Stormy' for our annual get together and we all agreed that it was the best accommodation we had stayed in and we have been 'reunioning' for years. The house is spacious ,clean and comfortable but not too precious that you couldn't relax. We felt at home straight away and spent the majority of our time inside sitting round the huge kitchen table. We had glorious weather which is always a major bonus and meant we could make use of the bbq overlooking Rhossili bay. We had a couple of really long coastal walks with fabulous views and even fitted in a spot of surfing the morning we had to leave. The house really is in an excellent location with 360degree views. It comes highly recommended, we were really sad to leave.

We have recently had a fantastic holiday at Stormy Castle. The house is beautifully presented, with excellent facilities to cater for a large family/group, its a perfect home from home. The location is simply idyllic, surrounded by beautiful countryside and nature, and stunning views of Rhossili Bay.

I've been camping at Hillend campsite for a few years' now but, Stormy Castle is another level. A truly magnificent place of residents, everything you could possible want out of a holiday house is right there. Stormy Castle was spotless from top to bottom and housed my 14 mates without feeling like your stepping on one another's toes. Stormy Castle can and does accommodate anyone both young & old, that's why I'll be booking a return visit with my wife and two little ones very soon. If you're reading this I'm assuming you've already viewed Stormy Castles' website and seen the stunning photographs of the house & surrounding seascapes & landscapes...enough said! In short Stormy Castle ticked every box I had: Sleep 14 close friends = Tick Close to beach = Tick - easiest of walks including carrying surfboard (8 to 10mins max Close to Pub = Tick - easier than the beach (6 to 8mins) Clean & Comfy = Tick Tick - Spotless and very comfy My lasting memory of Stormy Castle: Great friends sharing good times over ice cold beer while watching the sun set over Rossili Bay indulging in a BBQ from the garden at Stormy Castle...life is out there!

How do damage deposits work?
