A family of 5 can make a special request. My spacious & comfortable studio apartment is situated in the best location on the Swiss Riviera at the border of Montreux & Clarens. It's only 30 m (yards) from the lake with spectacular panoramic lake & mountain views from the large French doors or the balcony on the 4th floor of a beautiful Belle-Epoque building with an elevator. It's near the 5-star hotels & only 150m (yards) from the Jazz Festival, Stravinski Auditorium, Miles Davis Hall, Park Vernex, Conference Center & near the Christmas Market as well & has a valuable onsite parking space, or convenient bus stop less than 75 m (yards) away. I provide Montreux Riviera Cards for all guests for unlimited free local public transportation by bus, train or funicular, and half-price on some Alpine transports farther into the mountains, some lake steamer cruises, & admissions to selveral museums including to the famous must-see Chateau de Chillon and the Alimentarium in Vevey which is the Nestle museum.

In the turn-of-the-century building with charm, it has high ceilings & is very light & airy. It is beautifully & comfortably furnished & outfitted with everything needed for a pleasant stay of any length including free to you reliable high-speed wi fi, cable TV with dozens of channels in several languages including some in English & several music channels,

Travelers have an option to use the parking, however there would be an additional charge for parking $15 per day.

There is a very comfortable Queen Bed with reading lamps on both sides and a view of first light on the mountain tops from bed if you don't draw the light-blocking drapes. For additional guests, there are 2 pull-out single beds that can easily be put away during the day, also a rollaway single bed of standard width & height and a chair that folds out onto the floor as a single bed lower and slightly narrower than standard that is ideal for young children. The apartment can sleep up to 5, but it works best for a couple, or a couple with children, and is not appropriate for more than 4 single adults. Remember, it's a studio apartment - one big room with no separate bedroom. But, the bathroom does have unlimited hot water for the tub or shower, so that's not a problem for 4 or a family of 5. For more than 4 guests, you must make a request and state the ages of the children and I'll decide if it's appropriate for your family or not.

There is a hallway with a coat & hat rack and an armoire outfitted with various drawers & shelves as well as space to hang clothes on hangers. There is an ironing board & iron, a hairdryer, & multi-plugs that fit standard 2-prong European plugs. There's a desk/vanity and excellent, reliable high-speed wi fi.

The kitchen area, although compact, has a 4-burner gas range and oven, a small refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, French press coffeemaker & American-style drip coffeemaker with a gold filter or it takes paper filters. There are beautiful pots & pans, utensils, pretty dishes, glasses, stainless cutlery, placemats, coasters, etc.

Beautiful bed linens & soft, fluffy American towels are provided. There is access to a shared laundry room in the basement to do your personal laundry as long as you are considerate & follow the directions in my info.

I do send you lots & lots of info that includes things to see and do, places to shop, eat, etc. And, I am also available to answer your questions & help in any way I can to assure that your trip is a most wonderful one.

House rules

No candles or incense. Although official check-in is 17:00 or 5 pm, you can request early check-in which usually can be accommodated. You can drop bags after 12:00. You must fill-out a Registration Form. Be courteous to other residents in building. Do not bang baggage in elevator or against walls. Carry baggage across hard surface floors (OK to roll over carpets).No playing or shouting in the hallways. If doing laundry, follow directions and clean laundry machines after use. Wash dishes used.

Response from the owner My apartment is absolutely ideal for 2 or 3 guests, but I offer the opportunity for families with children to stay there too as it has a kitchen that makes it more affordable than a hotel room for families. No hotels in Montreux will allow 5 guests in a room, so my apartment is a great reasonably-priced alternative for families with up to 3 children where each child can have their own bed. The shower over the tub is pretty much like any shower over a tub anywhere, but the deep bathtub and unlimited hot water seems to be really appreciated by guests who love to take baths. The convenient location close to everything but without train noise that can be a problem in many places in the area, and panoramic lake and mountain views from sunrise to the left and sunset to the right can't be beat.
