Villa Erato is an ancient house located in the centre of Praiano. It was build in 18th century and it has been restored in 2007 taking care at all the ancient furnitures and cotto tiles. The house is perfect for a couple, for two couples or for a small family.
Villa Erato faces the sea and the sun, from the house you will enjoy a breathtaking view on the Amalfi Coast so you will be able to see "Positano" until "Punta Campanella", than "Capri" with the well known "Faraglioni Rocks" and finally the "Li Galli Island" which was owned by the know Russian dancer Nurejev. The house has all the modern furnitures and amenities, air conditioning, plasma TV, Internet wifi, winter heating. But most important the house has a big garden all covered by olives an lemon trees from where you will relax, lying on the sun beds just drinking a fresh glass of white Falanghina wine.
The house is really well located, from the street level there is a lift and then around 75 stairs to get the house, walking through rural and fascinating tiny streets. Close to the house there are the best restaurants, wine bars, cocktail bar, the pharmacy, grocery stores, fish shop and tabacchi shop. To get the closest beach which is called "La Gavitella" there are 400 stairs, where you will find restaurants and beach resorts. The closest bus stop is 5 minutes far from the house so the car is not necessary. If you decide to come with a car you will be able to park for free on the street within 1 km or park in a private garage just next to the house for 10 € per day but you need to ask before your arrival the check the availability.
Entering in the living room you will understand immediately that you are in an authentic house, where you could feel as to be in your own. The furniture are not basic and neutral but rather elegant and refined. There is a table which can accommodate six person, a sofa and an armchair from where you will be able to watch television or just connect your personal computer at internet thanks to the internet wifi. There is also a small library with books in english and italian. So if you forget your one, almost surely you will find one for your journey in Praiano. You have the possibility to enjoy the great view just staying on the balcony seeing the sun going down to the sea. In the living room there is the air conditioning
First bedroom with en-suite bathroom
You enter in this bedroom the the living room. The celling are high and they still conserve the ancient vaults. There is a double bed (king size) with an ancient headboard. Maybe you can also pass all your holiday lying in the bed as from there you have an amazing view. In this bedroom there is air conditioning too. From the bedroom you can enter in the bathroom which is made with majolicas and marble. There is washbasin, a toilet and a bathtub with shower wand.
The kitchen has all the modern furnitures, there is as cooker, oven, fridge and freezer, dish washer, italian style coffee maker and all the kitchen tools you may need.
You will be able to enter the second bedroom along a stairway. The ceiling is vaulted too. The furnishing are elegant. there are two single. beds (but there is the possibility to make a matrimonial bed if requested). The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
The bathroom is tiled with lucid handmade majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a hydromassage shower. Here you will also find a washing machine.
You may ask for someone who carry the luggage to the villa
There is the possibility to have food home delivery, so you do not need to carry everything at home by the stairs.
You can ask for kitchen classes at home
Boat tours are possible with special prices for the Villa Erato guests.

Response from the owner Of course it is never pleasant to receive a bad review but I am sure it helps to improve the service offered to the future guests. It is just really sad to see how the review can be used as revenge against someone. Before to leave they left us a paper on the table where they just thanked us writing beautiful words for them staying in our house that they enjoyed a lot as well as all the other previous guests, they didn't mention anything bad. It is true that they had troubles with the lift which was broken at the moment of them departure and was fixed just two hours later. The morning they left there has been a misunderstanding between me and my mother that's why they had to carry all the luggage alone, they also saw my mother and they didn't tell her that the lift was broken otherwise she would have called someone to carry for them. When they arrived in Praiano, personally I carried all them luggage because I try always to do my best for my guests. Then in the description is written everything about how many steps there are and about the electricity included in the price, it takes 5 minutes to read until the end of the description and know about it. I used to explain everything when the guests arrive, but then everyone ask different things that I answer as well. I can't predict all the things that the guests want to know. Anyway I would be my pleasure to have them again as guests in my house in order to offer them a better service according to them high expectations that I know now.
