Living room with french windows on to balcony, fully equipped kitchen area with fridge, hob (3 gas rings) washing machine, dining area with table and chairs, lounge area with settee and armchairs and large traditional fireplace, one bedroom with double bed; one bedroom with double bed which on request will be made into two single beds: (On request an extra single bed will be put into one of the bedrooms to accommodate a fifth person); 2 bathrooms with shower cubicle, basin, bidet and w.c.

“Good location, great views, nice pool, but basic inside and website info could be improved”

The holiday was for myself, my husband and our twin daughters aged 16. The property we booked had the following layout; of a large but basic kitchen / diner / 'lounge' area, (although the tiny twin sofas were very uncomfortable indeed!), 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower / bidet and sinks. When we booked the property we thought that it was a self contained, separate apartment, but actually, there was another smaller apartment adjoining it, and which was in fact, part of the larger property as it was only divided by a pair of normal wooden doors. There was no sound proofing so you could literally hear everything that was going on next door! The layout would have been perfect however for a larger family of 6, but for two separate bookings, it meant privacy was an issue. In terms of outside space, the property we booked had a small terrace to the side, which unfortunately did not have any of the fantastic views of the town of San Gimignano, as this was obscured by two large trees! The terrace was small and the chairs were uncomfortable, although there was a further seating area with dining tables where you could eat. The best bit of the property was the pool area which happily did have the amazing views of the town. The pool lights were not working when we arrived as the owners said there had been a lightening strike which has knocked them out, but the next evening they came on! The pool area was well equipped with plenty of sun loungers. However, after 9 days of using the pool, the water quality deteriorated and there was a considerable amount of green algae on the bottom and around the sides. Things that would improve this booking would be clearer / more accurate information on the website, (be warned, the owners tried to charge us 3 Euros per cycle for using the washing machine, even though it clearly states in the amenities section of the website that there is the use of a washing machine, and there was no mention of this under 'Additional Charges'. The best things were the peace and tranquility, (there is no TV), the amazing views and the location, as it was really easy to drive into San Gimignano. A car is essential! The owners were also kind and brought us fresh tomatoes from her garden and some home made lemon cake! San Gimignano is lovely, as are the many nearby medieval towns, and Sienna, Pisa and Florence are all within easy reach. Perfect for couples, but perhaps not the best venue for two teenage girls!

Response from the owner I thank you for your visit and answer your objections The pool is cleaned every morning and at night there is an automatic cleaner The lights were broken by lightning, it was vacation time and we did not find anyone to repair, we called the technician who helped us to fix Television is not supplied and the sofas are standard outside under the pergola there are tables and chairs and bbq, on the terraces there are small tables for relaxation unfortunatelyyou did not read the info on the tripadvisor website well, where we can write with a limited number of charac you did not even know in which portal she had made the reservation, because in spring she wrote to me through AIR while she had booked through tripadvisor you wanted the electric oven to cook when it is not supplied and never used you demanded 7 pillows you asked for pans for microwave oven used as candle holders Leaving the trash at home was not very hygienic
