According to our guest book reviews - quite the most relaxing and comfortable cottage in Co Waterford! Kate's is a traditional Irish cottage Newly decorated & refurbished 2019 to a very high standard. Set in a third of acre with a delightful stream running through the private garden. An excellent base to explore the sunny South-East of Ireland or just simply to relax.

Locality - Situated 3 miles from the historic town of Lismore and it's castle gardens, the Irish home of the Dukes of Devonshire where literary and music festivals are held in the town throughout the year.

For garden lovers, Kate's is at the heart of the popular Waterford Garden Trail with 5 beautiful gardens within 10 minutes drive including Lismore Castle gardens, Cappoquin House, Tourin House and a little further on to Mount Congreve.

Only 20 minutes from the golden sandy beaches at Youghal and Dungarvan along the famous Blackwater scenic drive. Salmon & trout fishing are available on the River Blackwater and Lismore 9-hole golf course only 10 minutes away. There are several signed walking trails in and around Lismore great for Cyclists ,ramblers and fishing!

For food lovers in Lismore, there are a variety of places to eat from traditional Irish pubs such as Foley's On The Mall,Thairish, The Summerhouse Cafe offers daily baked cakes and light lunches. For special occasions, try the Cliff House Hotel with its great views over Ardmore Bay, Ballyvolane House or the award winning Tannery Restaurant at Dungarvan. Try the wonderful seafood chowder at Ahernes Restaurant in Youghal.

For serious shoppers, Cork City is only one hour away and a visit to the famous English Market is a must. Wander through beautiful coastal town of Kinsale with it's cobbled streets and artisan shops. Ballymaloe Cookery School and Gardens and the Shanagarry Pottery are only 40 minutes away from the cottage. So many places to explore and enjoy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Helen/David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
