Description

This is a One bedroom apartment at/on the beach with great privacy. Very rare end unit with empty lot on one side giving 270* views. There is a very private outside 20x15 ocean view deck with a full awning. Relax on the huge outdoor King bed and enjoy unparalleled views of the Pacific ocean, Santa Monica bay, and Catalina Island. Daily dolphin shows and occasionally whales. At night curl up in a warm blanket and enjoy the famous "queen's necklace" view as the city comes to light. All the while listening to the calming sound of the ocean. There is always something going on out there to enjoy. Private steps down to the beach for a closer look, walks or watersports.

Inside is very nicely equipped with a modern fit and finish throughout. It has a full service kitchen with electric range/oven, stainless fridge freezer with ice maker, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig and toaster. Queen size bed and Large closet/wardrobe in the bedroom. Living room has two couches, coffee table. Glass table and chairs for two at the beautiful picture window looking out at the ocean. 42" flat screen smart tv with internet (netflix, Amazon, firestick etc) Blu-ray DVD player. The bathroom is small but has a full size tub and shower. Plenty of storage cupboards in apartment. Cable wireless internet included but no cable TV. There is a gas fireplace and heater in bedroom but NO AC.

Parking is a dedicated single street space directly outside. Also unlimited parking on both sides of the street.

The location is fantastic feeling a million miles away from the city but close enough if you need it. Santa Monica and Malibu town centers 10 mins either way. LAX airport 40 mins. Public bus stop a minute away. "Moonshadows" and "Duke's" restaurants just down the beach.

A great spot to switch off and unwind. Ideally suited for singles and couples. Sorry i cannot accommodate pets or children.

“Disappointing, moldy, unkept”

We’ve stayed at many vacation properties over the years and this was by far the absolute worst. Not even sure where to begin. The unit had a musty odor. The couches had an awful smell and the pillows looked visibly dirty. We couldn’t even sit comfortably because of the smell. There was mold in the bathroom and around the kitchen sink. The sink sponge was old and dirty. The garbage can in the kitchen was an old paint bucket. The shower had two used loofahs hanging and a dirty sponge sitting on the side of the tub. We had two bath towels and one hand towel. No face towels, no bath mat. The bedroom had an open storage unit with beach towels, an extra pillow and a blanket but when we asked the owner, he said none of those were clean. There was no window sill in the bedroom, only bare concrete and the blinds didn’t open all the way. Parking for the unit is on the shoulder on the PCH. The sliding glass doors leading to the deck didn’t lock. The screen was off the track. The only positive to this home was the view. Absolutely nothing else. We debated moving to a hotel but availability was scarce and we needed to stay in the area for work so we had to stick it out. We had also paid in full prior to check in and were afraid we’d lose our money. I should add that we’re well aware that waterfront properties tend to have a high humidity and moisture level making them harder to maintain, however, this was totally unacceptable and lacking in basic upkeep and cleanliness. This was particularly worrisome given today’s need to sanitize and disinfect. We actually picked up disinfectant spray at the neighborhood CVS and sprayed down surfaces on our second day we were there. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this home. I’ll be reaching out to Trip Advisor requesting a call back. This property shouldn’t be listed in its current condition.
