Description

At Portugal Yurt Retreat we pride ourselves on providing an environment for total relaxation. We enjoy sharing our home with visitors, and make sure we do what we can to make guests feel comfortable. Holiday in our luxurious, well appointed yurt in a very peaceful, small valley in the heart of Central Portugal. Far away from roads and noise, our yurt is surrounded by olive, mimosa and fruit trees, providing a secluded and shady retreat from busy life. Experience a 'glamping' yurt holiday, and off grid sustainable living, with all the comforts you would expect.We offer yurt rental all year round, on a self-catering or B&B basis. Our yurts can now accomodate 6 people, as we have new 'camping' yurts next to each rental yurt, suitable for an extra couple or larger families with older children. Additional meals can be easily provided with notice.

We have two yurts available for rent, both have their own private kitchen and bathroom facilities and can sleep up to four. Each yurt also has a small 3.6m 'camping' yurt, which sleeps two and is available for hire with a permanent yurt, please note the camping yurts are not available for rent on their own
Our yurts are approx. 5m in diameter, on a wooden base, with covered outdoor kitchen/dining area and adjoining toilet & bathroom. The yurts have their own facilities, making them completely private and self contained for those who truly want to retreat and relax in privacy.

Both yurts have a queen size double bed, and a couple of single mattresses. We also have camping yurts near to each main yurt, suitable for another couple or older children. We do charge for the camping yurt, which is only available to rent with a bigger yurt. see prices

We will provide bedding for all beds and bath towels for everyone staying. (We recommend you bring your own towels for swimming.)
Almost all of the furniture in the yurts, and the yurt structures have been hand made using wood from our land.

Yurt Kitchen - Adjoining each yurt is a covered kitchen & dining area. The kitchen is equipped with sink, 2 ring gas hob and small grill, a fridge, and pots, pans, crockery and cooking utensils. Our water comes from a bore hole 100m under ground and is safe for drinking.

Yurt Eco Bathroom - The bathrooms have eco-showers with solar hot water, sink, and toilet facilities. Our toilets are eco/composting toilets. We have 2 toilets, one for solids, sawdust and paper, and a urinal/toilet. For more information on composting toilets

Enjoy clean air, crystal clear water for swimming, many forest tracks for exploring and very traditional Portuguese villages. Canoeing, kayaking, yoga and relaxing massages are all available. Children are welcome, and catered for as we have young children as well. Families can relax in a safe child friendly environment.

How do damage deposits work?
