Description
Enjoy this romantic, secluded cottage on a natural reserve in beautiful Umbria. A small yet well equipped cottage, your neighbors are the birds, fireflies, and trees that populate this wondrous spot. Traditional materials and a recent restoration have brought the cottage, owned by an Italian/American couple, to it's full splendor. The nearest villages are medieval gems and farther out our guests can explore towns such as Orvieto and Todi. Choosing to stay at home and gaze at the amazing landscape and Calanchi canyon at 180°, a private swimming pool and full two acres of gardens await our guests. Relax on the hammock for an afternoon nap, sip a chilled bottle of excellent local wine, or set out for a day of cultural enrichment in any one of the extraordinary places that the region has to offer. Our small cottage has a living room and separate bedroom, bath with shower and is set up woth a table and grill for outdoor pleasure. All linens included, honeymooners welcomed with an special offer and gift upon arrival.

“Delightful”
Had a really lovely and relaxing time in the most peaceful and quiet location. The place was authentic and rustic providing only the most basic facilities- not a problem but needs refreshing. Must say that the very difficult access road needs to be made more clear prior to booking as our hire car was not up to the steep and very bumpy ascent and we had to borrow a 4x4 to get up and down safely and we would have ventured out more in the evening but for the thought of attempting the lane in the dark.

“Honeymoon cottage”
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for - very quiet, private and in the countryside. Fabrizzio who showed us down the track to the cottage and made sure everything was good every day or so was brilliant - nothing was too much and he had lots of advice. Although the cottage is relatively basic it is comfortable and has everything you might want or need, apart from WiFi. The lack of modern communication was one of the attractions to us as part of getting away from it all. On the days you don’t want to “chill” by the pool there are plenty of attractions nearby from historic towns to the gardens at Villa Lante. The nearby towns have plenty of shopping for all your daily needs. I would really recommend this to anyone looking for a genuine escape into unspoilt countryside who simply wants nature as your holiday companions.

“Fantastic one off experience for the brave”
The location was amazing...miles from anywhere. The house is down a long bumpy y track, not for the faint hearted. This is a good place for those who want to get back to n atuure and forget modern life ,. . It won't suit those who need high tech modern living and all the latest gadgets. Fabriczio was lovely with gifts of vegetables and an amazing philosophy.

“The magic engulfs you”
We were warned about the drive and that track is definitely not for the faint hearted. Fortunately my partner enjoys a challenge. But this is not the place for anyone who might need medical assistance. Nor is This is not a cottage for the fan of high tech..it is rudimentary in equipment ,and this could do with a critical overhaul...but it has a simple charm . others have called it magic and it is. The simplicity, the remoteness, the. Views, the early morning birdsong, the cicadas all combine to enchant. Lake Bolsena is an easy drive away and is delightful...there is a plethora of medieval villages, archeological sites and of course beautiful Orvieto nearby Or you can just swim and look at the views. Fabrizzio.the gardener is charming and generous with gifts of delicious tomatoes and olive oil from his small - holding , and his life's philosophy.
