Description

Our home is situated on 200 acres of land with Sub tropical Rain Forest and Wet Sclerophyll forest on the North Coast of New South Wales. A Creek flows past the dwelling and walking 300 meters upstream along the creek surrounded by rain forest and peacefulness, you reach your private 20 metre waterfall with a small pool. If you feel like a trekking through the bush you can walk to the top of the waterfall and beyond. There are many walks (off track) that you can investigate to see the wonders of our beautiful bush.

Our home has just been transformed from a run down shed to a beautiful space to live and experience the Australian bush. Being out here and relaxing in this tranquil environment is what makes it special.

Girralong Rainforest Retreat is off grid and powered by solar energy with a solar hot water system. Water is pumped to our tanks above the house from the creek and is gravity fed to the house.

With that in mind if you would like to stay you need to be aware of your energy and water use.

The living and dining area are open planed with a outside BBQ and dining area which is covered for you to enjoy in all types of weather. There is a fire pit for you to enjoy a fire under the stars.

The kitchen has a wood fired oven, so it can cook your food but also can heat the living space as well as being a back up to heating your water. There is also a separate fire place to heat the entire house.

The 3 bedrooms have views of the bush and are spacious, two bedrooms have a Queen sized bed and the third bedroom has bunk beds.

While here you may see a variety of birds and animals that are native to the surrounding area. They could range from goanna's, frilled neck lizards, bush turkeys, variety of snakes, lyre birds just to name a few.

There are many walks that you can enjoy while staying here along the creeks and up in to the bush .

Off the property there are many 4 Wheel Drive tracks which you can travel on which will enable you to see more of our beautiful countryside.

Access wise you do need a 4Wheel Drive.
