“Great Ski House for many especially with teenagers”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2014

The Rental agency was very good, assisting when we couldn't get stereo on main floor, especially since there was no t.v. either. It would have been nice to view winter Olympics! Location great, we skiied Saddleback but any other winter sport would have been great if we only had the time! Beautiful home & fireplace, nice floor plan.

“great base of operations”

Reviewed 10 Feb 2014

while it doesn't look like much from the road, this house proved to have beautiful lake views and ample room for 2 families (7 people) to enjoy a long ski weekend. this location is handy to rangeley town and saddleback mountain. open living space made for nice flow and we didn't feel like we were climbing over one another. obviously it is not the focus of our time away, but i would say that a television located in the common living area on the main level, instead of in the basement and adjacent to a "kids" (i.e. bunk beds) room would be a nice improvement. also, the house was very clean, which was wonderful, but there were no pillow covers (under the pillow cases) or mattress pads on the beds, and the night lights, as well as one of the bathroom lights, was burned out.

“One of the Nicer Cabins You'll Find in Rangeley!”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2013

The cabin was large, clean, well insulated (for a cabin), comfortable and provided plenty of seating for everyone. Kitchenware was well stocked and in good condition. Everything that we needed was provided (except toiletries of course) so bring yourself, your clothes and a bathroom bag and you'll be set! Check in/out was very easy, quick and painless. The cabin is not quite on the lake but snowmobile trails are very close to the house and both Saddleback and Sugarloaf are well within driving distance. Wood for the fire was well stocked and covered with a tarp to prevent moisture. They even had dog/cat food and toys stocked in the cupboard! The only downside was that although there was Wifi, we could not locate the wifi password anywhere. We arrived on the weekend when the office was closed and did not consider it an emergency so we lived without it, but I'm sure a call to the office during the week would have resolved that issue.

“Great view close to town”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2013

First time staying here but we absolutely loved it and already booked for next year. Very close to town we made it there in on in a half songs!! Snowshoeing on the Mingo Loop trails was awesome, serene and beautiful. The fireplace made it nice and cozy on our return from outdoors and the view was great! The only thing missing was baking sheets to cook appetizers on so wil remember that for next year!

“Great vacation at a great location!”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2011

Service from Morton & Furbish was excellent. The cozy Wood Wind offers nice winter views of the lake and is nestled between the villages of Oquossoc and Rangeley. Snowshoeing, sledding, skating, skiing, and snowmobiling are all nearby or right from the back door. Winter vacation at Wood Wind in Rangeley made for some lasting memories.

“Relaxing and comfortable”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2010

The Jessen was very clean and well stocked with every thing you would need to feel at home. However, it really was not conducive to boating or swimming with your family. The steep incline to the water made it very difficult to travel with children and anyone that is elderly. Once down on the dock, there was not an area to really wade, or sit. There was not much for the children to do within the house. I would recommend this house for a fall or winter stay, as I am sure it is very pretty in the snow. It would also be easier to make it down the incline with a ski mobile. It would be nice for empty nesters or older children that could drive to and from town. It would also be perfect for a romantic get away. We have stayed at many of the Morton Furbish properties and will continue to do so. Thank you.
