“The good, the bad, and the ugly”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2014

Some nice stuff: beautiful wood furniture, but bed frames, though lovely, had hard corners and in small bedroom, a hazard. Bedding, tired. Pillows: please throw away and replace. Thank you for having a coffee bean grinder. We also took many of the dusty fake flowers a put them in closet. Used vases for cheap beautiful real flowers from farmers markets. Lanai was wonderful. View awesome. Neighbors at pool very friendly and a gathering spot a sunset. We missed out "green book" and had to figure things out for ourselves, but not too hard.

Response from the manager Thanks for the review and letting us know about the book. We have put a new book in the condo and replaced the pillows. Happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip and hope to see you again!

“Wonderful Sea Village stay!”

We spent 2 weeks at Sea Village Resort in Kona and it was wonderful - great place, great weather. Working with the GVR staff was a breeze!

“Will definitely be back!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

Right from the get go this trip was so easy to plan with the help of Great Vacation Retreats. The directions and check in were spot on. We loved the room and the view of Kona from our deck. The location is perfect as well. It's only a 15 minute walk to town which made Happy Hour at Huggo's a daily routine :-) The grounds were very well kept. There was construction at some neighboring units, but their hours didn't affect our rest and the workers were friendly so that didn't affect our stay. We enjoyed the pool and used the Bbq's nightly. It was very easy to waste the day away by the pool in the sun. We weren't with our kids for this stay, but the resort is very kid friendly. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable taking our kids here and chances are it would only take them a day to create a friendship and be off having a great time of their own. The resort Manager, Travis was also very friendly. He recommended some great beaches and attractions and even has the "inside scoop" and information on some of the lesser known area's of the Big Island. One thing you need to do for yourself before you leave Kona is: Mamalahoa Hot Tubs & Massage. This is a must!!

“Ahh, Kona Condo sunsets”

Reviewed 15 May 2013

Sea Village 4207 was a wonderful choice. It was our first time to the Big Island and first time with Vrbo. The condo is nicely furnished and decorated. The beds were comfy. We didn't need aC as it only got too hot when we used the oven. The sunsets from the deck were amazing every night. The location was perfect for heading out on day trips or popping into Kona for shopping, food or local music any night of the week. There was remodeling going on in the complex but it was never too noisy and the hours were reasonable. The only complaint was that some of the things Vrbo said were provided were not. They were all easy enough to pick up at the store though (TP, laundry soap). We wished there had been some basic spices for cooking but we made do. All in all it was a great location, clean and comfortable, and a good value. All arrangements including the rental car was handled swiftly, making it easy to relax and not worry about those kinds of details. Snorkeling was best at Honaunau (2 Step) Beach about 20 miles south. We lucked out and got to swim with dolphins there. Hapuna Beach a little north was also awesome (rated top 10). Another great beach we kept hearing about was on the HWY north from Kona;turn left at the Veteran Cemetery sign on the right. We went to Hawi for trinket shopping; ATV outfitters for seeing the countryside from sealevel to 2500ft; LavaRoy's for seeing the lava flowing into the sea from about 15ft away; Neptune Charlies for what turned out to be whale watching instead of dolphins but we have a life time rain check. I guess we'll be coming back!

“Great waterfront condo”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

We enjoyed our week in Kona at this lovely, well maintained condo. It was in a very convenient location, close to shopping, dining. The only complaint we had was with the understocked kitchen. There were too few place servings, wine glasses, etc. We have stayed in condos all over the world and have come to enjoy a well fitted kitchen...other than that, it had comfortable furniture & beds & came equipped with many beautiful sunsets!!!

“location location location!”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2013

Found this rental to be well appointed, clean and especially well located. The Kona village was just the right distance away to be convenient but removed. Arriving to find the keys in the lock box was such an easy way to take possession. Receiving an email with info concerning dining and shopping was appreciated and put to good use. Having all the appliances made the stay feel like home. We enjoyed the sound of the surf soothing to sleep to with the door to the lanai open. I cannot think of a single thing that I did not enjoy regarding the entire experience. Looking forward to returning to Kona again as soon as possible!

“Fabulous”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2012

Great condo, parking always available, modern furnishings and great view. It was comfortable and it felt like a home away from home. We cooked a couple of meals and found all the necessary cookware. Both rooms were comfortable and we definitely recommend to anyone staying visiting the Big Island.

“Ocean sounds...”
