“decent place for the price.”
I thought the value was great. Place was worn. The floor creaked when walking around and could hear it from the upper unit as well. Kitchen could use an update and need a new toaster. Beds were moderately comfortable but sheets on single bed were worn out and needed to be thrown away. Also that bedroom needs a place to hang clothes. The bathroom been the two rooms with single and dbl beds, need to be updated with new toliet and sink. Over all neighborhood was quiet and very nice.
This is the kind of property that would appeal to budget minded families traveling together or college students looking to split the bill. It has lots of space. But it is worn. It only makes sense if you can split the bill at least three ways. The air is musty. It will remind you of grandma's house. The rooms are large and furnished with older pieces. The kitchen and bathrooms desperately need a face lift. Appliances are old, but function. Paint is peeling and wood is exposed from lack of care in the bathrooms. Some windows open. Others are painted shut. The HVAC works fine for heat but the air conditioning does not work well. Nights were damp. Bring your basic items, they are not supplied (I.e., soap, shampoo, hair dryer). The laundry room is like an add on unfinished enclosed porch off of the kitchen. Unfinished. It houses a stray toilet. We didn't use it. The wifi only works in the living room. We could not get wifi in the bedrooms or back of the house. There is one TV in the living room, no TV in bedrooms. There are games and books. You will be in a quiet residential part of the city. If you want to visit Market Street, Fisherman's Wharf, nightlife, AT&T Park, etc. allow 25-35 minutes for your drive. Longer for public transport. The place is adequate. I do hold the rental company responsible for withholding information that the house next door, sharing a wall, is under major renovation. We were informed when we arrived and picked up our paperwork which had one line typed on it. "Be aware major renovations next door since October 2013". Experiencing an army of construction workers, their heavy equipment, a dozen construction trucks, music and loud instructions being shouted from 7 am - 4 pm every day is a surprise no vacationer deserves. Especially when paying the going rate for a property that is clearly compromised by this environment. Shame on you for this omission. There are far better places to stay at this price point.
“Lovely home, amazing location”
The unit was huge, homely and so lovely. We had an amazing view from the back balcony and the area itself was quite pretty. The company was easy to deal with and instructions were clear. There was plenty of parking on the street and we had no issues walking around the neighbourhood. We had a lovely time and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you.
“Presido Terrace Lower Unit”
The unit was clean and well presented. However, we were given no indication by Managment that building works were occurring at the house next door (which shared an adjoining wall). Building works started at 7.00 am every morning (consisting of mainly jack hammering and drilling), which meant that the stay was far from enjoyable. Further, the internet connection in the living area did not work and we experienced trouble with operating the television as a remote appeared to be missing. We telephoned Buena Vista Rental to enquire about this during the stay, but our voice message was never returned, which we found extremely disappointing. In short, the service and level of communication from Buena Vista fell far short of what we expected.
“great value for money”
large older house with plenty of room 5 min walk to public transport 20 min bus ride to pier 10 min cab ride home $15 this house had all the requirements a family would require we had 4 male adults live in the house for a week we cooked did laundry and all appliances where in good working order and beside a small plumbing issue which was rectified immeadiatly it was fantastic in great safe area with shops and starbucks 8 minute stroll away
“Very Nice Neighborhood”
Six of us stayed three nights in the lower unit and had a great time, mostly off seeing city sites, but returning for meals to a well stocked kitchen. A three day pass on Muni got us easily all over town starting a couple of blocks away on California. This apartment was old and had some nice features including leaded glass and banded quarter sawn oak flooring. Unfortunately all of the old (probably mahogany or oak) cabinets and coffered ceilings and bathroom tile had been painted white - what a shame when it probably could have been refurbished. Some newer additions didn't quite fit in - slick marble fireplace, shower doors that didn't work, torn master bed sheet, broken dishwasher, questionable laundry/toilet room. Internet connection was not found as described, but Wifi did work in back rooms. We were not told that major demolition and construction was occurring immediately next door starting at 7:30 am. If you plan to be gone during the day, be aware that parking times are limited (we returned for lunch every day and moved the car). Didn't know where our trash went, the containers we saw were overflowing. But don't be discouraged. If you don't get upset easily, then you'll laugh, have a glass of wine and have a great time like we did with the kids and grandkids.
We spent Spring Break 2013 here, 6 nights. Since we arrived late, it was difficult to find the mailbox w/our key... The home is in very good condition, comfortable beds & in a really beautiful part of SF. We really didn't cook here, ate out at amazing restaurants, and used the Uber car service to get around - much better than a taxi! Overall a great experience, thanks to Jan for the help in getting us booked!
“Fantastic Place is a great location!”
My wife and I stayed here (with our 18 month old daughter) for a little over a week when we moved to San Francisco. We love the area...I cannot state that strongly enough...and the house itself is large and comfortable.
The accomodation and location exceeded our expectations, a pity we could stay longer. Picking up Key etc was very easy. Highly recommended.
“Great apartment to stay with familly”
The apartment is located in a a very nice area of San Francisco. We were a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and it was a very confortable place to stay. The apartment is large with a bedroom for each child. We are very positive.
