“Deceiving rating”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2017

I don't know how this place has a 4.5 rating. There are some good things (location is great and it is spacious) but it's definitely not worth this rating. The place was dirty. Shower had mold. The bed was not made. The sheets where old, yellowish and rough (they really need replacement). We found hair on the towels. Toilet seat was all shades of yellow, definitely needs replacement. The heater was very noisy, to the point that we had to turn it off. There is no curtain, only blinders on the window so you can't make the room dark when you go to sleep. The bed was definitely not a king, rather a full size. Upon arrival we had to get sleep masks, ear plugs and lots of clorox to clean the place. We felt deceived for paying that much for a place that was rated as a 4* in booking.com. We couldn't cancel and ask for a refund. And we didn't have time to look for another place as we were there for a conference. Just go to a hotel...at least there you know what to expect.

“84 Union Street”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2016

Our stay at 84 union street was very nice. It is very close to Pike Place and all the major attractions. We walked to Space Needle. Parking at Downtown Seattle is very expensive, so stay away from a car. Use Uber, Taxi etc...

“Very central, close to Pike St Markets BUT - soooo noisey in the morning due to the construction happening on the roads”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2015

Once the building on the roads nearby is over this would be a great place to stay. The problem is, at present, a large amount of construction is happening on the road at the bottom of the apartment building. There are 3 levels of road, and traffic noise is certainly a factor - but is constant so not too bad. What was happening was road building and expansion to allow for the demolition of the two top levels of the motorway close to the apartment. Once that is complete this will be a far better place to stay. But that may be some time away. The apartment itself, the kitchen, bed, bathroom, - everything was very well equiped and comfortable. With the central location we bought food either from the market or very close by supermarket, that all worked well. Very central, close to the cycle way that goes around Seattle. But come 5.30 a.m. when the trucks started arriving during the week, it was very noisey. I would certainly stay here, or in other Stay Alfred apartments, but in the case of this one, wait until the road works are complete if you value sleep!

Response from the manager Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your honest feedback. We are very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the construction close to your unit. Seattle is a beautiful city but sadly with these downtown locations comes constant change and the possibility of construction. But we agree, once the construction is over Marketside Flats will be even better! We hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future so we can provide you with a proper 5-star Stay Alfred experience.

“Great stay at Marketplace”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2014

Once you have checked in, you can enter and exit from the rooftop entrance - it's at Union and 1st, right at the Four Seasons Hotel. The main entrance is at the harbor level. This is a nice apartment for two, great location next to Pike Place Market.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your honest feedback. It's our goal to consistently deliver the best vacation rentals in the most desirable downtown locations, but it sounds like we have one or two things to work on. “gorgeous apartment in an amazing location”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

This was a lovely studio with all of the necessary amenities. We were comfortable and felt safe at all times. It was a super location: Close to SaM, the aquarium, Pike's Market and much more. We never needed a car. We had a great time.

“This place just feels like Seattle”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2013

This is my second time back to this property. I just feel like a Seattlite when I stay here, just a few blocks from the original Starbucks, I work at the Starbucks in Portland, the Great Wheel, and all the stuff on the pier. There isnt a ton of cleaning supplies in the unit, mostly just the basics. Other than that and the Seattle Traffic, it was pretty much perfect.

“Clean Rental”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2013

Was nice to have the amenities to make a home cooked meal while traveling. This rental was looked like it was just updated on the inside and had all the cooking utensils we needed. Two of the nights we walked across the street to the piers and ate seafood which was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this place and will be back.

“Had a very enjoyable stay, awesome location”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2013

My wife and I stayed were last weekend, and we had a great stay. The roof top deck was great the first day when the sun was out, then it rained the second night, so we didn't use it. The room was cozy and clean, with modern finishes. Spent most of the time walking around.

“Our family loved our city apartment! It was perfectly located!”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

Our family loved our city apartment! It was perfectly located! We were situated right on Post alley which made it easy access to Pike Place Market. Across the street and down the stairs were just minutes from the boardwalk to great restaurants, the argosy Harbor Cruise and Seattle aquarium. We had purchased a City Pass that allowed us to see and experience a lot of what Seattle has to offer. We also got to take in a Mariner's Game at Safeco Field. The only downfall of Seattle has to pay for parking no matter where you go! Be sure to budget for it! Our apartment was perfect for our family. There was a futon and pull out so each of the boys got their own bed! There was a portable air conditioner that we definitely could not have lived without! Very clean and had everything we needed to cook our own meals on occasion. Relaxing after a jam packed day sightseeing on the rooftop was spectacular. The views of the harbor and giant Ferris wheel were so relaxing! Thank you for the memories! Sincerely, Tara Macfarlane

Response from the manager Hello Tara, Thank you so much for your review! I agree with you on the parking... it can get a little expensive in a city like Seattle. If you need anything in the future please let us know.
