“Better than the pictures, if that's possible.”

First some background. We had never been to Positano, nor the amalfi coast, but the amalfi coast was a bucket list of mine, so we settled by happenstance in Positano. The Villa Talamo is walking distance to everything you might need, beach, shopping streets, restaruants - yet high enough up the hill to have a breathtaking view. Hosnestly, I could not imagine a better location for a Villa. Positano is not for folks who have trouble with stairs so be warned! Every morning I walked to the local market, bought my food for the day, augmented by fresh mint and figs from our garden. Giovani, the owner, and his family operate a restaurant on the edge of town, and came and picked us up for dinner. It was superb, and the view, is really unbelievable. To top it off, Giovani's restaurant (Al Barilotto Del Nonno) had the best red wine I have ever tasted! I polished off a bottle at dinner, and took 3 more with me for the villa. At 8 euros a bottle, it's cheaper than water. An added bonus for the villa, is that it came with car parking. Once in Positano, and particularly in Villa Talamo, you will not need a car. Getting there is a lot of fun though, and personally I prefer to drive than fuss with trains, buses and taxi's. We did a little bit of looking for Villa's in the amalfi before our trip, and noticed a significant premium to stay in Positano. I can only say that it is worth every nickel. You wont be disappointed in Villa Talamo 8.

“A delightful time on the amalfi coast”

We were a group of 7 ladies who enjoyed our stay at Villa Tamalo very much. We found the property very clean and comfortable. The décor was typical to the region and quite charming. There were many steps to both units as well as some between them, but we thought this was a positive, since part of our trip was hiking in the nearby mountains and this was just another way to get in shape. The owner was very kind and took us to his restaurant for dinner one night which was delightful. We were serenaded by the waiters which were joined by the rest of the patrons for a fun evening. The location was excellent, right in the middle of town with a view to die for. Everyone had a wonderful time in this charming villa!

“Villa Talamo, It doesn't get any better than this!”

We travelled through Italy for 3 weeks. We began in Venice, stayed for 1 week. Then on to Villamagna in Tuscany for 1 week, and last stop Positano. We rented private villa's at each stop. We found Villa Talamo to be the best by far. We were greeted by Mr. Talamo, a really charming man. The accommodations were very luxurious, but the views, oh the views!! Mr. Talamo owns a fabulous restaurant. He picked us up personally and drove us home also. The food was splendid & the weather was nice so we dined outside, just wonderful! The only very small drawback would be the steps. There are some steep steps if you choose to walk to town. There is however a bus just a block away that will drive you down.
