“The best as always”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2014

Jonna with Deadwood connections is the best to work with! We have been working with her with all of our Northern Black Hills vacation properties. This was a first time staying at this particular property. As always it was awesome! Love the properties in the Gilden Mountain area that Deadwood Connections rents up there. Every property we had stayed at always exceeds our expectations! Thanks Jonna for a beautiful place to stay!!!

“Lots of Love”

Six women looking for a place to relax stayed here 4 days. We found our place and it was clean and met all the advertised amenities. It was close to Deadwood and actually not that far from Rapid City and Mt. Rushmore, if you are willing to drive some. We wanted to stay in the Hills and this was ideal!

“A great place for families to have fun and make memories!”

It waa a nice place for our family to stay. Our grandsons had the pool at the club house to themselves every evening when we returned from our day trips to different attractions in the area.We never did see a caretaker in the area. The pool table lack some balls and the air hockey table did not work- their disappointment. Housekeepers should move things and clean behind them. Refrig had old stuff we had to throw. Those are the only complaints we had. Overall, it was a fun place to stay- a great place for families!

“Luxury in the Hills at a Family Price!”

We had a wonderful stay at the Gold Rush Lodge. The kids loved having lots of space to spread out with their friends and us parents loved that we could get away from them as well. The location was nice for getting to many of the local attractions. There was more than enough starter supplies, towels, linens, and almost made it 8 days on the provided Toilet Paper! We ate at the cabin every night for dinner and every morning breakfast before hitting the road for our adventures. Loved the clubhouse, Air Hockey needs some TLC! There are a few recommendations that we have for the owners to do but they are so small it did not affect our stay or the great memories we made! We would stay here again for sure. Suggestions/Maintenance needs: An a/C unit for loft would be an great investment...the air up there was so stuffy on those hot nights. Ipod base thing completely broken. Kitchen utensils are rather dilapidated but useable in most ways. Lots of expired foods/condiments in the cupboards...tried to clean some out but just kind of needed some more. Downstairs TV in smallest room is not working. Master does not have a remote for the TV. All in all it was a great place for such a good value and these little things do not change the fact that we loved our time there and would stay there again if looking for Lodging in the Black Hills. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful atmosphere for our life long family memories!

“we were kinda dissapointed”

the place seemed to not be very clean, esp floors, grill

Response from the manager We are so sorry you didn't find the accommodations clean enough. That is something we strive for with all our vacation homes. This will be addressed with cleaning persons and taken care of.

“Terry Peak Sking”

The house was great and overall we were very happy with the rental. Issues: it was very icy in the drive way area and on the steps. We had 4 of our guest that were over 60 years old and the ice was really hard for them to manage when coming and going. A little gravel to spread over the ice would have been nice. There was very limited cookware for a house that sleep 12. The cookware was only big enough to cook breakfast for two people at a time.

“Excellent”

Home was great. Room downstairs for the kids to play. Very comfortable home with a family. Great view out of the living room window.

“Trip of a lifetime to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2010

My husband, myself and four teenage kids took an incredible road trip this summer to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We were looking for a rental house that would be accommodating for all of us and wow did we find it at Deadwoodconnections.com. What can I say but wow the pictures on the website cant possibly show everything this house offers. Its beautiful with 2 living rooms and an open kitchen and fully furnished basement (perfect for the teenagers) with a large flatscreen HD tv, and even a fooseball table, 3 bedrooms down there and a bathroom too and that was the kids area! The main living area is beautifully furnished. I loved the hot tub right outside on the deck, it was awesome hooking up my Ipod on the seround sound stereo (outside speakers too!) and having a cold beer in the hot tub with my favorite tunes after an incredible day of vacationing in this area where there is just so much to see and do! Now after you are awestruck by the house you meander over to the clubhouse and are blown away again. This place is awesome an outdoor pool with two hot tubs and its all in a clubhouse thats a beautiful home. Its fully furnished with the best furnishings and if all this isn't enough fun there is a pool table, large flat screen tv, and an air hocky table. Finding this rental was the best choice for a vacation home that we have ever found. It was expensive but worth every dollar we spent. If we ever make it to South Dakota again you bet I want to stay in the Gold Rush Lodge again. The only thing that would have made this dream destination a just a little more awesome would have been if the pool had been a little warmer. It was freezing and I mean 60 degrees.
