“Great house but much further than you want to be from town”
The house was beautiful and had very nice amenities however the location was not exactly what was advertised. The free shuttle stop was over a 1/2 mile from the property and required walking up and down a steep hill. During the evening hours the walk back to the house (up hill) was very dark and difficult to navigate. My recommendation would be to have a car if you are planning to stay at this property as taxi services are very hit or miss in Breckenridge especially during high season or extended snowfall. The steep driveway made things interesting when driving (or in our case, being driven) especially when fresh snow had fallen. We had experienced drivers leave us on the street because they did not want to attempt to ascend the snow filled driveway. The house has very clear signs throughout to advise guests what to expect - one such sign was for the plowing of the driveway after 4" of snow had fallen, advising that cars should be parked in the garage to allow the plow to remove the snow. Over the weekend we received over 16" of snow and not once did any snow removal occur. On our checkout morning the deep powder on the driveway caused our private shuttle to get stuck on the steep driveway and ultimately caused several of our friends to miss their flights back in Denver. The house itself is very nice and has a great family feel but the location really leaves a lot to be desired. I would not stay at this property again.
Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback and we are sincerely sorry to hear you missed your flights. The snow storms make great skiing but unfortunately can cause issues with travel and delays on the road anywhere from your home to the airport. This is why we advise guests before arrival and departure about the weather conditions and access to links for updated information. We do agree that a car is necessary while staying at this home. Guests can manage without one but it is a 1/2 mile walk to the bus stop. Not everyone may be up for adding this onto their daily commute. We will make this clearly on our site as it is not our intention to mislead any guests. Our homes are plowed 4" or more and am guessing it may of snowed more after the initial plow. We do advertise on our site the driveway may be challenging in the winter and highly recommend 4WD. We are glad you enjoyed the home and although the location is up on the mountain, we hope you enjoyed the amazing views it has to offer in return.
“Beatutiful home, beautiful location”
This home has it all. It is the perfect get away for anyone - especially for families as it has all the amenities of home. The home sits up high to the south of Breckenridge overlooking the town - just a lovely view and location.
“A Beautiful Mountain Retreat”
This is a beautiful house with amazing views. It has all of the amenities of home, plus more. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and had no problems with anything. We were there during a very snowy season and had a little bit of trouble getting in and out of the driveway. If you are there between November-April, I would definitely recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
