“Cannot Wait to Come Back!”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2016

The Seagirt home exceeded our expectations! We loved everything about it. The home was immaculate. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we never imagined we would need -- from toothpicks to test a birthday cake we decided to bake to champagne flutes for the birthday toast! The home suited our family perfectly. Everyone enjoyed it -- my two under two-year old grandsons, my 80 and 76 year old parents, and the rest of us in between. The baby gates and all the extras for the little ones were so appreciated. All of the decks were fabulous with such great ocean views and what a pleasant surprise I had when I noticed the reflection of the ocean in the master bathroom mirror! I could see the waves even while brushing my teeth! The location of the home is ideal. From the living room deck my elderly parents could watch the "kids" and great grand babies play on the sand of the ocean side or we could all take a very short walk to the calm bay side. My husband and I thought it an easy walk to Ralph's for groceries and we loved strolling the babies down to Belmont in the morning. Next time we will know we don't need to pack the strollers -- another thoughtful and useful inclusion of the rental. The only disappointment we had came when we discovered that Sea World fireworks were not happening during our visit. We consoled ourselves with double S'mores at the rooftop fire pit! Needless to say we cannot wait to come back. We hope we will be able to watch fireworks from the rooftop deck next year. We left a beach umbrella we purchased at Costco in the garage -- we don't have much use for it in Arizona :-) We hope other vacationers will enjoy it along with the great beach chairs provided by the owner. We will absolutely contact Pacific Sands when it's time to schedule our next visit. The reservation process was painless and problem free and the rental was without a hitch.

“OUTSTANDING IN EVERY WAY”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2015

I generally don't write reviews, but I am willing to make an exception for this property. We have stayed at numerous different properties in Mission Beach over the last 18 summers that we have been visiting, some better than others. I can say that none have been in the same category as this one. Every aspect of the property was excellent, from the friendly neighbors to the comfortable beds. The house is clean and modern, as is obvious from the pictures. The kitchen is top notch and well designed, and of course the multiple decks with ocean views are unbeatable. I have no reservations whatsoever about highly recommending this property, and would encourage anyone looking for a top quality rental in North Mission to take a close look at this one, with one caveat of course: please don't try to rent it when we want it!

“Fantastic location”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2014

This home is fantastic! And you can't beat the location. I was traveling with my spouse and two couples. We rented this home to visit with family in the area and attend the Chargers/Patriot's football game. We absolutely loved the layout and there was plenty of room for everyone to have privacy and together time. The kitchen and deck grill allowed us to prepare meals for when we stayed in. The views from the rooftop are incredible with beautiful sunsets - absolutely loved the glass railing. Great idea! Blocks the wind and not the view. There are alot of stairs so if stairs are a problem for your travelling companions, this home may not be the best choice. Even with the cooler weather we took advantage of the beach and boardwalk (we are New Englanders afterall.) Restaurants are conveniently located within walking distance as well as the grocery store, Ralph's. We especially enjoyed breakfast at Swell, including the freshly roasted coffee and breakfast Panini. Mission Café and Olive Café also became favorites. Looking for a great burger, go to Rocky's. It's a small local bar and there are 4 choices (1/3lb burger, 1/3lb burger w/cheese, 1/2lb burger, 1/2lb burger w/cheese) plus fries. They've won best burger year over year and won't disappoint. (cash only) The boardwalk has lots of activity at all hours with Belmont Park toward one end. We liked that we had easy access to the boardwalk but weren't directly on the boardwalk where everyone is looking into the houses as they pass by. Easy access by car to many local attractions (San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Coronado Island, and many more.) But there is lots to do within walking distance. Check the book provided by the homeowners - lots of great information. The garage can accommodate 2 cars but not oversized SUVs and there is no driveway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. If you have the opportunity to stay at this home, I highly recommend it.

“Top Notch Vacation Rental”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2014

I fell in love with the pictures and could not wait for my family to join me in San Diego after a business conference. My mother will be turning 70 years old soon, and being from the desert, she has never been on the beach. She LOVED it! When we were not actually sitting on the beach, she was sitting on the various balconies and the rooftop. She just got a kick out of the surfers! Our party of 7, ranged in age, from 39 yrs. to 69 yrs., so the activities ranged from jogging on the beach, riding beach cruisers, bar hopping or just watching the ocean waves. We chose to cook all of our meals and the kitchen was stocked with top of the line appliances and supplies. The dishware, cookware and utensils were only part of the careful detail that has been put into this home to make our vacation even that more special. This home is well cared for and everything was top of the line! Nicole from Pacific Sands Vacations, Inc., also provided top notch customer service and made the vacation planning easy. This experience was priceless and I would certainly recommend this place to families of all ages. We did not want to leave and hope to do it all again next year!

“If pictures could tell the whole story”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2014

I've been using VRBO/Homeaway, etc for a long time. Most of the time you pick a place based on the pictures and maybe it's right on or you're a little disappointed when you actually get there. In the case of this place it's the pictures that disappoint and don't tell the whole story. The view from the roof alone is worth the rent--whoever encased it in glass is a genius; and the rest of the house is terrific as well. Close to a grocery store (Ralph's is just down the road) and there is a cool little neighborhood bar (Single Fin) literally 20 steps away. The beach is 20 steps the other way, and the house comes with boogie boards and being midwesteners, we didn't mind getting in that supposedly "cold" October ocean. We had a little trouble with the TV, but Nicole and Pacific Sands was super responsive and we got it working in no time--frankly, we didn't really feel like watching all that much TV anyway.

“New Beach Home Away from Home”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2014

Our families arrived on Saturday afternoon and were able to check in right away. The home was very clean and we were impressed with all the amenities, how it was stocked, and the conveinent location. We were steps from The Beach with great views of the entire Mission Beach area, both oceanside and bayside. Some of us wanted to go to the beach while others wanted to explore the area, and thats what we did for the entire week. There were plenty of toys and entertainment for all of us; ranging in ages from late 40's to our newest grandchild. We were just steps to all the best restaurants, shops, and entertainment in mission. We were also just a short bike ride or jaunt to many close attractions, dining, and a wide array of Southern California fun. We've been to San Diego and Sothern California many time and we would highly recommend this home for almost any occasion or family event.

“Great Mission Beach Rental Home”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2014

My wife and I have rented various homes in the Mission Beach area for a number of years. For the most part we have been somewhat disappointed in the quality of some of the housing. What a change when walked in the door at 712 Seagirt. The home is beautiful and super clean. The layout was nice and if you wanted to be away from the kids you could take the bottom bedroom. The home has beautiful finishes throughout and is very tastefully furnished. Everything in the home was first class - linens, towels, cookeware, tv's, furniture, etc. The owners and property management company make sure the home is properly maintained and stocked. The home has fantastic views from multiple decks and allows for privacy if you want to get away from others. The roof deck is a perfect place to hang out and enjoy the cool breezes and views. The amenities in the home were great - fireplace on the roof deck, umbrellas, lots of seating, etc. There are also beach toys, chairs, unbrellas and boogie boards you can enjoy at the beach and you don't have to rent or bring your own. You are also walking distance to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, grocery store and lots of beach shops. We highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to rent a beautiful home in the Mission Beach area.

“Too Nice!”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2014

Four life-long friends stayed at this amazing property over the Superbowl weekend. This house is far too nice to be a rental! It was as if you had a well-to-do friend who let you use their vacation home! All of the amenities were top notch. The location was great - walking distance to everything.

“Brand New House with Tons of amenities”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2014

We had four adults and four kids at this wonderful rental house and the only thing that would have made it better was an extra garage door opener (there's only one). Nevertheless, anything else we could think of was provided. Plenty of linens, towels, tri-fold mats for kids that aren't good with sleeping with other kids, pack 'n plays, high chair, abundant kitchen tools/cookware, fantastic grill, tons of beach toys, comfortable beach chairs, etc. Truly, everything we could think of was already there and the place is only two houses down from the beach. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for anyone.
