“Needs updating”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2015

We loved the position and the veiws, and it was very clean.i think it must of been done up in the 80s and not touched since.i wouldn't of minded if the bed was comfortable, but clearly the mattress needed replacing,my husband ended up sleeping on the floor!.no dishwasher and shower either.electiric certainly needed testing! Very nice owner so sorry I had to write this.

“Excellent base”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2014

The apartment is quiet and comfortable; excellent value. Many thoughtful touches: food and drink on arrival and other small useful items provided. The huge tidal changes are fascinating - we had feared smelly mud flats, but not at all. Very quiet location, even over the Bank Holiday, and easy parking. Good base for Exmoor and the coastal cliff paths both out of the hamlet and further west.

“Very, very happy with all aspects, it made our short break perfe”

As we were introducing two friends to the area the apartment and its treats could not have been more welcoming . It is laid out perfectly also, Situated close enough, to all we needed . Thank you. Valerie

“A lovely, relaxing, comfortable short break.”

Location is excellent, literally on the harbour. There is a selection of places to eat in the village but we were more than happy with the local pub, its ales, wine and food. The owner came to say hello but otherwise was unobtrusive; it's handy having the owner nearby in case of problems, but we didn't feel watched. The instructions to get there and find the key were clear and precise. The apartment was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean, excellent quality, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding if required. We had a lovely time.

“Actual experience exceeded our expectations ,the online pics do”

You know how it is ,inevitably pictures are taken at flattering angles and there's often a slight let down when you arrive at your holiday cottage . But Harbour House apartment was even nicer than it looked on line .Spacious ,well equipped ,huge fridge freezer ,Lovely calm bedrooms . Cosy lounge with heavenly comfortable sofas and french doors onto a little balcony . views from windows that cover a 360degree panarama , and spotlessly clean everywhere ! views from windows that cover a 360degree panarama , Pub with food within spitting distance but no noise ! And no through traffic in the harbour . This is the holiday let that I see other people enjoying and wonder how they found it . I know this sounds gushing ,but I truly do mean all of it !

“Lovely location in comfortable accommodation”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

Harbour House is very conveniently situated amongst all of the amenities - a lovely pub, ice cream and gift shops. The views from all of the windows are the best that staying in Porlock Weir has to offer. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony, watching the world and the little housemartins go by. It is very comfortable and homely - the only criticism being the lack of a shower. The owner was very welcoming and on hand for any queries. We enjoyed the coastal walks from Porlock Weir and would definitely like to return in the future.
