“Disappointment”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2014

We thought the advert to be misleading, the cottage has a nice kitchen and very we'll equipped, but I don't think the cottage has been recently renovated, not in the last 18 months anyway, the outside is quite tatty, we felt we couldn't really use the garden as it is away from cottage and overlooked by the main house. On a positive note it is very well located and ideal for walkers. Overall we felt the cottage to be overpriced, we will definitely be visiting porlock again but not at worthy cottage.

“Absolutely fantastic”

Great place to stay for 2, well furnished, beautiful. Only problems were a weak dryer and leaky tub!

“hidden treasure”

Lovely walk to Porlock weir. Felt a bit weird using the garden especially with dog. Was calling him to heel always. Better fencing or gate would be more usable if dogs are allowed- Why not? I would always clean up if any mess left and I am certain others would too, Can't rule it out if you are allowing dogs. Also table PLUS 2 chairs for eating outside on the higher part of the garden would be perfect. Dragging table down to the bench or v-v is a bit stupid. However is a lovely hideaway. Would go again. If they will have us!

“wonderful snug hideaway!”

A great little cottage with all the mod-cons as well as old-world charm. Well orgnaised, beautifully presented and good location all males you settle in right away!

“Charming cottage”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Worthy Cottage. The cottage is comfortable and charming. The wood burning stove made our pre-Easter break very cosy. We were pleased with the warm but not intrusive welcome from Suzi.

“Great little cottage”

Lovely cottage in a great setting. Really appreciated the welcome tea, coffee, bread etc - but if you like ground coffee take your own coffee maker! That really seems to be the only thing missing in a very clean and well appointed place. Also if you have a low slung car watch the entrance and enter as far over to the right as possible- we scraped the bottom of our ordinary Hyundai 3i when we arrived.

“Most enjoyable”

Great. The toaster broke. The owner?( very nice)'. Replaced it the same day,! Very cosy and well equipped. Nice to come home to at the end of a day out in terrible weather and light the wood burner. Great local pub, The ship, good food and friendly staff. Thank you had a great time in spite of the variable weather

“Lovely little cottage in an excellent spot.”

Worthy cottage is a charming little cottage. It is very well situated for walking on the south west coastal path, along to Porlock Weir and Porlock or up on to the moors. Had a very nice pub lunch in the Ship inn in Porlock Weir. Recommend a walk to Culbourne Church.

“Best stay in 20 years!”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2013

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Worthy Cottage. Twenty years ago we ended up at Porlock Weir as we had made no honeymoon plans. Whilst we have been back to the areas many times in the last 20 years nothing could have prepared us for the most wonderful welcome to the cottage. Everything and more was available for 2 weary travellers. The cottage is well laid out and enjoys the benefit of a wood burning fire for a lovely atmosphere. Easy to venture off to Exmoor, great for walks on the beach and close to the local pub (5 minutes). Being next to the sea and woodlands at the same time were just a treat for us!

“Totally chilled out break”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2013

We had a wonderful stay at Worthy Cottage. The cottage was very well equiped with just about everything we needed. It was a lovely touch to find milk, bread and butter waiting for us as well as tea, coffee etc. It was also great to have washing up liquid, washing machine liquid, hand wash etc. The cottage was very cosy and the setting was great. We could walk into Porlock Weir on the costal path and also lots of other walks close by. Even the weather didn't spoil our stay and we managed to visit lots of places that we hadn't been to for a number of years.
