“Beautiful Cottage, perfect loaction”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2017

We booked this as a short break to do some walking with our dog and young baby. The cottage has a paddock to the rear which the owners very kindly allow dogs to exercise in and it also leads onto a pack horse trail. This trail is a lovely walk into Porlock Weir that can then connect onto the coastal path. The town of Porlock is conveniently located, and has a good range of shops and restaurants. We were particularly impressed with Piggy in the Middle! The cottage itself is well laid out and very well equipped with every thing you need. Although the stair are pretty steep (I would recommend slippers) the downstairs was nice and open and safe for our baby to crawl around and explore. The enclosed courtyard is a useful addition to let a dog out for a morning stretch. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

“Perfect for Beach and Countryside walks”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2017

Location is perfect for the beach, countryside walks local pubs and eating places with the village of Porlock within walking distance with small shops a garage ( plus fuel ) pubs and places of interest and only 15mins from Minehead with many places of interest. Our second visit great and our dog loved it !

“Lovely Coach House”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2016

Lovely Coach House set in stunning grounds. Very calming decor, nice and spacious Lounge and kitchen diner. Wonderful views of the sea and Bossington Hill. 10 min.s walk to the lovely village of Porlock. This was our second stay in the coach house. We can't wait to return. The owners feel like old friends.

“Coachman's cottage holiday adventure”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2015

Location was amazing, so peaceful and secluded, very pet orientated as was intended, having access to the paddock was enjoyable to say the least for my dog. A lovely mixture of woodland, coastal path and beach walks made it an experience I would very much like to repeat. Coachman's cottage was very homely and benefited from Up-to-date mod cons. Hosts were very friendly and most helpful. The locals of Porlock Weir and Porlock were most welcoming people and it was lovely to see how accommodating to dogs they all are as we also found in the other villages we visited.

“Coachmans”

Lovely location but decor, furnishings very tired and rather dated, China badly chipped in kitchen. Standard of cleaning poor, dusty under dishes, surface cleaned only.

“My second visit and it is still the best place to stay in Porlock!”

Reviewed 19 May 2015

This is the second time I have stayed at Coachman's Cottage and the visit was equally as good this year! Everything is still maintained to the very high standards experienced on my last holiday here. (Read the review I did last year too) This is an exceptional cottage which although it is within in the owners beautiful grounds, offers total privacy. Nicky and David (the Owners) are such lovely people both friendly and helpful. Porlock is a beautiful part of the world and this is definitely the place to stay if you are visiting.

“Fabulous Dog-friendly cottage holiday”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

Coachman's Cottage at Porlock Somerset - Firstly this is a lovely cottage in an exquisite location. The cottage is wonderful, tastefully decorated and well equipped, our hosts David and Nicky are lovely people. There is a paddock to the rear of the property solely for the use of the dogs......our boys couldn't wait to have their early morning run in this wonderful space and then embark on walks with Mom & Dad in this lovely area Coleridge Way and more. In short, hospitality fantastic, location brilliant, cottage wonderful.......enough said.....icing on the cake...dog friendly!!

“ideal for dogs”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2014

This is the perfect place for dogs with a area round the back for the dogs to run about, lovely views, very clean, everything you need. Stairs would be a bit steep for older people.

“Brilliant!”

Absolutely fantastic cottage in brilliant surroundings. Loved every minute in this home away from home.

“Welcoming & comfortable”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2014

This was the second time we have stayed at this cottage and even the weather couldn't mar our break. Lovely cottage and very welcoming, knowledgeable hosts, Nicky & David made sure we had everything we needed and were on hand with suggestions of where to walk etc. Would reccommend for anyone looking for a cozy cottage in this area.
