“This place has it all, beautiful view, amenities for all ages!!!”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2017

We stayed four nights with our 4 children ages 11,8,4, and 3 years old. The amenities in the cabin were great, especially the theater room. Spacious with plenty of room for playing, and the hot tub was very exciting for the little ones. The drive is 25 minutes from pigeon forge, up a winding mountain road, so when you go out for the day, its no quick trip back to the cabin. It is a little closer to Cades Cove than driving through Gatlinburg, and the views are stunning. I would not hesitate to return to and stay again. It was an awesome experience. The site states that it sleeps 14, but there is only two beds, a futon, loft with a futon mattress, and couch bed. I wouldn't recommend staying here with more than 4 adults and small children.

“Great cabin”

Reviewed 14 Dec 2016

50 Mile View is a great cabin, pretty secluded, although there are other cabins around. There was bad wildfires in the area at the time when we were there and Gatlinburg was closed off to us, but Sevierville and Pigeon Forge had plenty to offer. The cabin itself was great and we really did not want to leave, but there were some issues. There were some high winds and torrential rain that blew off a bunch of shingles off the roof. It was leaking pretty badly in some spots especially by the doors to the decks and onto the stairs inside. By the looks of it, it's been leaking in spots for some time. Even with these issues, we still loved the cabin and would still recommend anyone to still enjoy it. Hopefully these problems will be taken care of because it is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful location and would hate to see this cabin get ruined. All in all, we enjoyed the cabin and the area very much and would love to hopefully come again!

Response from the manager Dear TripAdvisor member, We appreciate you sharing your feedback on your stay with us in 50 Mile View. Please accept our apologies that the roof leaked during the storm. We have contacted a roofer and the repairs are scheduled. We are grateful you enjoyed your stay in spite of the fires and the leak and hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Yours in hospitality, Amy P

“View wasn't worth the road to get there.”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2016

At 3pm on a beautiful day, we drove to the cabin. When we arrived, my 9 yr old was crying, my wife was praying and almost in tears and my hands were sweating. The road to the cabin is horrible. It is a very steep incline with no room to spare on the edge, up and down hills and sharp curves. Very scary!!! Once I imagined what it would be like do that on a foggy night or a rainy night, we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. They didn't give us a refund but I didn't care. The view is amazing and the cabin is nice. If you don't mind the drive up, then you won't find a better view. It is also about a 20-25 minute drive to Pigeon Forge.

Response from the manager Dear TripAdvisor member, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your recent stay at 50 Mile View. The view from there is truly amazing and the cabin is in great condition. We regret that the drive to the cabin prevented you from enjoying your reservation and you felt the need to move back to town. Please speak with us next time about this issue so we can make sure you are on a better road more suited to your families needs and experiences. We look forward to your return to our area and hope to see you again soon. Yours in hospitality, Amy P

“Mountain Magnificence”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2016

Stunning views throughout. Very clean and spacious. Highly recommended to anyone who is comfortable with driving up high mountains. Balconies face the west so the sunsets are beautiful. Perfect quiet location. Didn't see any bears in case your wondering.

Response from the manager We wanted to thank you for sharing such positive feedback regarding your recent stay. The views are spectacular! We’re honored to have shared the Smoky Mountain experience with you. Please do come back soon. Sincerely, Jeff G.

“Awesome view”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2015

My husband and I and our three children stayed here for a week in July. The view is amazing. The accommodations were very comfortable for our family of 5. Our children are older aged 15, 19, 22. The game room was very entertaining for their ages and we enjoyed getting movies from redbox to watch in the movie room which is located on lowest level with game room. The view from inside the house is breathtaking. On the down side, the pull out mattresses on the sofas are not comfortable. It says it sleeps 14. I wouldn't count on that. Two kings with a futon and small attic crawl space for kids. Also, if you want to go hiking and explore than this might not be Ideal. Otherwise, it has amazing views and close to pigeon forge.
