Description

'The villa is ideally located to start out for discovery expeditions of the “Castelli Romani” area. Frascati, the largest of the Castelli, is renowned for its typical 'fraschette' and “cantine” (rustic wine house). It is a very lively town with many entertrainments for young and more adult people. Castel Gandolfo hosts the Pope's summer residence on a hill overlooking the lovely lake of the village, thereby giving the opportunity for visitors who are interested to assist at the Papal audiences on Wednesdays or at the Sunday Angelus. Marino with its excellent wine of the 'castelli Romani' and the famous Ariccia's Pork is an attraction for those who appreciate new tastes, while Genzano and its famous 'infiorata' offers a delightful flower exhibition for tourists with various designs and figures totally made up of flowers. Also the surrounding localities of the Castelli are all worth exploring. Not to forget that Rome is just 40 km away and is easily reached by bus (only 15 km) to the Anagnina Metro and from there to the center of Rome. The villa is located in a very quiet area, in the Castelli Romani Park with a low-density of constructions. Very appealing during the summer months when the heat of the city becomes unbearable; in fact Rocca Priora situated at 750 meters above sea level is the highest of the Roman castles (we are about 500 m asl). Besides, at 50 meters from the house is the starting point for wonderful excursions on the 'Tusculum' on foot or by mountain bikes, with paragliding possibilities. While downstream, you find the famous 'Pratoni del Vivaro' where horses riding can be practiced.
Available in the garden of the villa, completely illuminated, are a wood-burning oven and a barbecue for outdoor grills or roasts and pizzas to enjoy during the pleasant summer evenings.

MEANS OF ACCESS:
From Rome (or Fiumicino) take the ring road direction South, exit at Anagnina then follow directions for Frascati and procede to Grottaferrata and finally to Rocca Priora. Otherwise you can take the motorway Rome-Naples towards Naples and exit at San Cesareo – Rocca Priora.
