“Good location, clean, and good value.”
We stayed in Edelweiss in Park City for the weekend. It was clean, modern, and had a view of the mountain. Easy in/out.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Edelweiss 308 and look forward to assisting you again. Please come back soon! Park City Lodging, Inc.
“Modern Comfort Close to Park City Resort”
My family (hubby and 2 boys) stayed at Edelweiss #308 over Spring Break 2013. The Pros: Proximity to Park City ski resort was walking distance 2 parking lots away. I only took the rental car out twice to go to the grocery store. The amenities of #308 exceeded our expectations. The furniture was all retro-modern. The 2 bathrooms were a plus. Tons of cookware and dishes. Nice newish fridge, dishwasher, microwave and convection oven. We used the gas fireplace every day and felt spoilt having 3 flat screen tvs. They also had a collection of Dvds to watch, and a drawer full of board games. The boys and my hubby really enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. I got in only once during my stay as I was too tired to bother going down the other 4 days. The place was gorgeous! The cons: The only thing about the condo that I did not like was the bed. Not sure what type mattress, but on 3rd night, I had to resort to sleeping on top of the duvet to give my body a buffer from the mattress. It was too hard. My husband thought it might have been a tempurepedic (sp?) mattress and it seemed to produce excess heat from beneath. The building should invest in thicker windows. You could hear everything outside from people walking/talking, the city bus/shuttle (which runs until 2am), the tractors and/or snow grooming machines. These things I would count against location not necessarily against the Condo itself. Would Definitely stay again though! Interior rooms might be quieter. I think #308 is exterior end room and we heard noise nightly from the street.
Response from the manager Thank you for reviewing your stay at Edelweiss 308. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall. All of our rental properties are privately owned and furnished by the property owner. The bed in this particular property has an expensive, high quality mattress that was recently purchased. While we know it won't be replaced any time soon, there are many things that we can do to make it more comfortable for guests who prefer a softer bed. Someone from our owner services department will check into those options and make recommendations. Many owners at Edelweiss have opted to replace the original windows and we know that more are planning to do so in the near future. Because of the proximity to the resort there can be a lot of traffic on Empire Avenue. Again, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to assisting you with future lodging plans. Sincerely, Park City Lodging, Inc.
“Fantastically updated room and super front desk service”
Pros: perfectly fitted out room in a very modern "European style", short/easy walk to Park City lifts (basically as if you had driven up and parked in the day lot), bus stop right at property to get around the area and also head to Deer Valley, a 7-11 is a super short walk away, communal hot tub and pool available (clean, but pretty basic), great front desk staff (guy from Chile you rock!), budget style shower and changing facilities are at least available on day of checkout so you can freshen up after a final day of skiing. Cons: older property and unimaginitive exterior/common areas (almost a basic/budget look), poor sound insulation in rooms could be a problem (it didn't put me off, but I could easily hear water rushing through pipes as upstairs used toilets/showers), extremely limited and basic common area amenities. Bottom line: I'd go back. If you want a fantastic room, and don't miss the other frills, this is a great room (this room ... I know others in property are in various states of decor/remodel or not). If you want to impress a companion or have a romantic getaway or like the feeling of luxury surrounding you, this is not the place for you. It's like a 5 star room in a 2 star hotel is the best way I can describe it. For me that was fine and allowed me to have a nice place to stay at an affordable rate far below a 5 star property. Other guests I encountered were all pretty mellow and age ranged from about 30 to 50 ... mostly people focused on being there for awesome skiing and not all about the luxury that can be Park City/Deer Valley.
Response from the manager Park City Lodging, Inc. appreciates your review of your recent stay at Edelweiss 308. “Great location for awesome skiing.”
The unit is recently updated, very modern. The unit is very clean and functional. Beds were very comfortable. Not much hanging closet space. Seating in living area did not accommodate 4 adults very comfortably to watch television. This unit is just above the lobby, in the front of the building, and overlooks the street. It is very noisy in the front bedroom at night because of the buses. We could also hear workers talking outside in the very early morning when shoveling snow. The hallway is a common area shared with a few permanent residents. One of these residents liked talking on her phone late in the evening on the stairwell right outside our bedroom door. Edelweiss is a great location with very easy access to the lifts. The free bus service stops right in front of the building so access to downtown is also easy. Great place to stay if you are planning to ski Deer Valley and The Canyons too. When considering Edelweiss make sure you ask where the unit is located within the complex so you can avoid frontage on the busy street because of the noise. I would rent this unit again as long as we didn't have others with us that have to use the front/second bedroom. The employees were very nice and helpful. We liked dealing with Park City Lodging.
