Very Good

“Out of date with a poor property manager”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2014

We rented this property for 10 nights. The night we arrived our first indication that we were going to have problems was the musty almost moldy smell when we walked in. The second thing was the huge dead cockroach we found in the middle of the front hallway. Upon further inspection we found the house was in desperate need of an update. The appliances were all 70's vintage not in great condition. The dishwasher's bottom rack was melted and unless you hip checked the door would not close to run. The night we arrived one of the first things I did was to check the pool. It was freezing and the pump was not running. I found the pool equipment and managed to switch the pump and heater on. I checked the pool jets only to find there was no heat coming out of them. I called the property manger (Clausen Properties) only to be told it takes a day or so to heat up. The next morning the pool temp hadn't budged so I called back. They told me they'd send the pool guy out. We went to the beach as the pool was too cold only to come back and find the pool still wasn't heating. I called the mgr back and they said someone had been and it was working. I assured them it wasn't so they said they'd send him back. As it turned out it was an employee of the mgmt company and not a pool guy and he hadn't really checked the pool heat he'd just reset the breaker. Once he felt the jets he acknowledged it wasn't working. The next day I called them back and they said they'd send the pool company out and call me back when they knew more. We again went to the beach due to the pool issue. Called mgmt company 3 times and each time they said they'd call me back with updates...they never did! Finally at 5pm a repair guy was at the house and fixed the heater. It took until the next afternoon to heat up to a decent temp so we went 3 days without being able to use the pool. Toni was to get back to me about rebate and never did. Emailed office about issue never got reply either!
