“Wyndham Vacation Rental Property in Terrible Condition”

The home at 101 Oceanwood Terrace, Hilton Head, SC was in terrible condition upon our arrival. We spent extra to have a home with a beach view and the afternoon breeze. As a result, and to our surprise, the house was dirty, cabinet handles missing, towel bars missing, something on the wall by the toilet in one of the bedrooms, two screens lying around on the deck, tools rusting left out on the deck, the microwave rusted out inside, stove dirty, and the garage/carport area off to the sides of the concrete was a mix of old rusted chairs and tables, and other junk that looked as if it had not been moved in years. We paid close to $5,000/wk for this property. We have stayed in this particular cluster of homes before through other management companies, both beach front, one and two back. None of the properties in this area have been close to the terrible condition of this one. Upon bringing this to the attention of the Wyndham office, Katie Hazelbaker politely gave us a credit for $350.00 for our troubles. We thanked her for what she did. While money back was not our original intention, we did want to stay in a place commensurate with the expense. This was far from the case.

The other smaller maintenance items have all been addressed too. Our goal is to meet and exceed your expectations. After speaking with you, we fully understand the impact these items had on your vacation. We wish that we would have put our best foot forward initially. As discussed, we have issued compensation to help make this right. Your feedback is important to us and we hope you give us the opportunity to provide a much better experience on a future stay!
